Mark_w Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 No-one who "truly loves the club" would ever dream of walking out to join Hull - however much he may have been undermined or provoked. Also bear in mind that Pearson is on his third attempt to take us to the top flight - MON only needed one. First attempt he finished 5th with 76 points, in MON's season in the second tier he finished 5th with 71 points, his second attempt he inherited a poor team unlike O'Neill and he looks well placed for his third attempt. Edit: I should point out that obviously I still think it's ridiculous to even suggest Nigel Pearson, although he is the best I've been around to see.
jambocat Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 Best ''' Gillies - Mon - Jock Wallace - Little Worst Pleat -Levine -Taylor - Sousa -- mmm there so Many..
RonnieTodger Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 Best in my life-time is O'Neill by a long shot. Worst has got to be Taylor. Absolutely tore apart an excellent squad left by MON even if it was without Lennon and Guppy. He was given strong backing by Elsom and spent ridiculous amounts on Matt Jones, Gary Rowett, Ade Akinbiyi and £1 is £1 too much on Junior Lewis. He also brought in the likes of Dean Sturridge, Lee Marshall and Dennis Wise. He got rid of Walsh and Cottee and "built" a whole new side...A side fit for relegation.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 Can't believe Levein is getting so many mentions in here. He inherited a squad with an average age of 38 and was given all of about £2.50 to sort it all out, despite all that he managed to give us a memorable cup run. Yes we were wank but he wasn't exactly flush for options. Compared to a certain someone who actually destroyed the club despite inheriting a squad capable of winning trophies and top half Premier League finishes and a extremly healthy transfer budget, he managed to make our team the laughing stock of the league/country. The two are uncomparable.
dynamark Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 Most fun under Bloomfield. Worst Taylor -thanks to the board at the time.Couldnt run a sweetshop. In truth best was Gillies
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 November 2012 Posted 27 November 2012 O'neill for me but I also rated Jock Wallace Worst got to be Taylor Special mention to Bryan Hamilton just for the fact he bought the legend Steve Walsh This Worst as above Taylor - ruined our club at the point it was nearly at its best (in my lifetime)
