purpleronnie Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 There are quite a lot that knock about near my office. In fact, about a year ago I got to work and there was a guy sleeping in the doorway of my office. Propped up against my door. I woke him and asked him to move on and got a tirade of abuse. I don't mind him sleeping there, but being annoyed when I want to get in to my office at around 8am in the morning is a bit rich? Anyway, Matt, if you've not seen the homeless for a while, take a walk around Maidstone town centre. They can't be very good at getting money from people though, I've seen so many asking, but yet never seen a homeless person on a bus. Odd. Or go to rome, thousands of them.
Guest MattP Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Or go to rome, thousands of them. That's what happens when you never finish your buildings off. Boom Boom.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Came out of Subway with a hot chocolate that I didn't really want (buying it made my purchase cheaper for some reason), so gave it to a homeless guy he asked if I could get him a coffee instead! Cheeky fvck. Luckily I don't tar them all with the same brush so the next time I did it (different homeless man) he seemed more appreciative.
ADK Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 I wouldn't give anything to a homeless person, they need to sort themselves out, not be encouraged to beg.

I hope it's never the case but there may come a time you regret that. I doubt many people actually plan to become homeless, yes, many are addicts, but some are in that position through no fault of their own.
Rincewind Posted 10 January 2013 Author Posted 10 January 2013 At the meeting I attended today a bloke about 30 spoke on why he begs. He said he does it so he does not resort to crime. He's been in prison and does not want to go back. I must say he looked like he had more problems than being homeless. He said he ges to £15 per day to get by then stops asking and I thought that's more than my JSA and I pay bills out of my income. He is not typical of the homeless though and think a bad example. He very likely from my impression of him has mental health issues which I believe is one of the biggest causes of being homeless. It is a problem with no easy answers and will always be there.

MooseBreath Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Reading your posts makes me so glad that you always disagree with my views. Do you give all of your mountains of cash to charity then?
bmt Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 What gives us the right to decide how they should spend the money. It's our choice to give or not. We are not their God. Finally something we agree on! Except I don't think getting dog food (from your earlier comment) is demeaning, the dog deserves to be fed which it may not be if the owner has the decision.
Guest Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 I don't think dog food is demeaning. That's why I buy it for them. Do you give all of your mountains of cash to charity then? Why? Do you need help to buy your £5000 car?

I just find it amusing when the likes of you and shrapnel are vocal supporters of a more financially equal society in some threads, and then in others like to show off about how much money you earn. You take the moral high ground stance and preach to others about how we should all be willing to contribute more to the welfare state, while also being smug about your wealth. Blatant closet tories of the worst kind. Too afraid to be honest so hide behind a liberal front.

To be fair I'm not sure FIF and the Captain are, definately fall into the wealthy middle class liberals who like to flaunt it and are 'too posh to vote Labour' but I don't think they go for the Conservatives.

It's possible to be wealthy and still encourage more even distribution of wealth through philanthropic work. It's just that most rich people choose not to be philanthropic. Oh, and dishonesty/hypocrisy is a trait shared by all humans, not just one group.

I can't help being an ex-entrepreneur and very good at what I do. I find it funny how you talk like a tory but are so poor without any potential. you should be voting labour. Obviously I no longer live in Britain so don't vote for anyone. whilst there I never voted tory, mostly labour though I did once not vote labour in some election. Towards the end I didn't always vote. Since I was labour and my wife tory we used to have a walk and a picnic instead of queuing to vote. Still in those days Leicester city was a labour stronghold and the county tory. And yes, I voted for Michael Foot - one of the best MPs I ever met.

I'd rather be an honest working class guy on a moderate income than an odious, hypocritical little maggot like yourself. It's so obvious that your pseudo liberal front is a manifestation of a guilt complex. Like a white slave driver pretending to stand up for the black slaves, you live your life in constant fear of being found out and held to account. Your life is a sham, and you will die lonely with a head full if regret.

I won't kill my family and friends at the same time. And do you really think you have anything in your head when you die? And if you did would it matter? My life is and has been everything and more of what you dream of according to your posts. Is it better to live a sham or just dream of living a sham?

Jealous partner and overbearing master.
