The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 April 2013 Posted 5 April 2013 Anyone else tried Champix Stop Smoking Pills and end up having a severe reaction to them? I've tried them twice before and ended up with literally the worst flu like symptoms I've ever had in my life. Literally couldn't get out of bed. Both times they started occuring after around the 7th day. I'm now trying for the third time, I'm on my 4th day now and am starting to feel bad again! They're bloody lethal!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 April 2013 Author Posted 5 April 2013 Will you never learn? They're good, make fags taste disgusting and make you really not fancy one, but honestly, I was bed bound for 3 days last time I simply couldn't get up

I took them with my prescribed anti-psychotic tablets and they sent me doolally after the 2nd day, so for oblivious reason I didn't take any-more. My wife lasted around 5 days then couldn't stop vomiting so she also stopped taking them. They're definitely not for everyone.
BigAL88 Posted 5 April 2013 Posted 5 April 2013 didnt have the illness side effect with them, but didnt have the desired effect on me to stop smoking ie the taste becoming horrid. iv just started these E=light things in the last few days and got to say there pretty good looks like a fag, drags like a fag and it has vapor smoke aswell gone 48 hours so far with out a cigarette. i suppose the real test will be when i have a drink over the weekend
The Don Posted 5 April 2013 Posted 5 April 2013 These are really bad! i had took these and they really worked, i have quit for a year. the only real side effe ts i had were nausea and dizziness, whixh went after about a week. but i know of people who have been really ill, psycological effects, driving wrong side of road etc and there are cases of suicide linked. take with care, but they did work for me and i would take them again.ou

BoneDog Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 These pills sound mental! Think I'll stick to snorting crack.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 6 April 2013 Author Posted 6 April 2013 I've been told to cut the second week dosage in half (literally cut the tablet) Though after feeling the beginnings of the symptoms again I'm going to self prescribe it all and take them on alternate days
pSinatra Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 I've taken these quite a few years ago. I stopped smoking after about a week - just didn't feel like smoking & if I did, I couldn't taste it. It's an odd feeling, but smoking just seemed pointless & I was getting nothing from it. I had some side-effects but they were mainly feeling like I was gonna spew for about half hour after taking the pill & the most stupid, vivid dreams. I didn't know this at the time & I'm not big on breakfast anyway.......but don't take the pills on an empty stomach & that should help a lot with the nausea. Not much you can do about the dreams, but it was getting to the stage where I didn't want to go sleep - because I knew I would be waking up again several times throughout the night. I have tried just about every nicotine product out there & I have had problems with dreams & sleep with all of them. That said, Champix was the worst by a long way!! I have since given up & have not smoked for around 18 months. Patches worked for me.
Bryn Posted 6 April 2013 Posted 6 April 2013 Aye, they're rough. They block off all your nicotine receptors, anything that messes with your brain biochemistry like that is gonna be rough, so as someone said they're not for everyone. If you can tolerate them though they are extremely effective.
halferowley2 Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 I stopped smoking using champix over 6 years ago. Stopping smoking is rough and painful most of it is caused by nicotine withdrawal not so much the treatments. There is no easy way to stop every way is difficult you just got to want to do it.
BoneDog Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 Think I'll stick to snorting crack. Just incase anyone thinks I'm stupid, I don't actually snort crack and do know that it's not to be sniffed at.
