mbmb10 Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 There are smoke balls that are pretty much the same, but they have a less burn time, they still look great!
Kitchandro Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I don't get them. They don't look that good, they're just coloured smoke. I think if you're going for visuals loads of flags, scarfs and confetti are much better. Besides, people light them, hold them momentarily and then just throw them, what's the point in that? The main part of atmosphere is vocal anyway.

Kitchandro Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Sherlock's here. Is that comment because I noticed you were gay in the hottest celebs thread?
purpleronnie Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Is that comment because I noticed you were gay in the hottest celebs thread? Noticed I was gay you're clearly not sherlock.
Kitchandro Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Noticed I was gay I take it back you're clearly not sherlock. Well you didn't think it was weird to be into Justin Beiber so.... Explain to me the brilliance of coloured smoke why don't you?
purpleronnie Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Well you didn't think it was weird to be into Justin Beiber so.... Explain to me the brilliance of coloured smoke why don't you? I'm open minded.
Kitchandro Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 You would know. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that, Ron, just as everyone knows it's a bit childish to think coloured smoke is really exciting.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 You would know. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that, Ron, just as everyone knows it's a bit childish to think coloured smoke is really exciting. I reckon you both need to lighten up
Kitchandro Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I reckon you both need to lighten up badum-dum-tsh!
WeAreGoingUp Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 i personally like them, great when people set them off after goals but they do stink...
unreachable Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I can see why a lot of people have a problem with them. In the wrong hands, they can be spectacularly dangerous. I can only imagine the burns they could cause if some mouthbreather decides to lob it as happened in the Wednesday game. I also empathise with the fact that they can cause problems for people with breathing difficulties such as asthma. I certainly get why they're illegal and frowned upon. On the other hand; they do lift the atmosphere a notch when used properly as at Blackpool and if people are sensible with them, I don't see them as being the embodiment of evil as some people do. Simply put, I'm on the fence with them. I wouldn't grass up somebody for using one and would probably enjoy it greatly, but could totally understand why people would rather we did without them. I suppose you wouldn't be quite so dogmatic if you got burnt by one.
C-man Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 They can look pretty spectacular if used en masse, as demonstrated when 1. FC Köln were relegated against Bayern last year, but I don't particularly see the point in the odd bomb. The risk in being caught is far too high for what it's worth. As a few others have said, I'd much prefer a display of flags and scarves but the likelihood of clubs ever letting flags in is probably as small as letting smokies and flares in. Lunatic country.
SystonFox Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 The uprise is due to twitter accounts like @footyawaydays and the like taking pictures of crowds of men then rt'ing them to death. Terrible twitter accounts. Who cares what 84 Barnsley fans at Ipswich looks like and who cares what 1,342 derby fans at Birmingham looks like and who cares what 4,000 city fans at forest with 20 blue smoke bombs look like? Load of old tosh
SystonFox Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 What does the term "mouthbreather" actually mean? Doesn't everyone breathe through their mouths the majority of the time? Odd insult
Kitchandro Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 What does the term "mouthbreather" actually mean? Doesn't everyone breathe through their mouths the majority of the time? Odd insult Yeh but you know those people who do it really heavily and they just sound pissed or retarded.
ADK Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Nope, most people breathe through their noses. You're clearly a mouthbreather.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I suppose you wouldn't be quite so dogmatic if you got burnt by one. Do you even know what dogmatic means? I've actually defined the post myself as 'fence-sitting.' Try reading the post again, I actually understand and sympathise with those who don't want them in stadia. Understanding and sympathising with other points of view, an alien concept to an insufferable pedant who exists solely to rubbish other opinions by concerning themselves with insignificant minutiae and semantics such as yourself. You've numerous posts on this thread that openly and unquestioningly support the use of pyrotechnics in stadia and you describe my post as being dogmatic?! What a bizarre person you are.

You ought to think before you post. You gave a very good reason for flares being dangerous then say you can't decide if they are a good idea or not. What a silly little boy you are - I do pity the children you teach.Your judgment is very poor these days - remember your post saying that our season was 100% over after the Birmingham match - just proves you've lost the plot. Writing long posts doesn't prove your intelligence - it just proves you so easily lose the thread of what you are saying.
1964FOX Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I much prefer the hand held flares for night time games if done by numerous people they can look really good and are very safe as they are designed to be held in your hand(clue is in the name when sold). However as we have seen recently people throw them which does make them very dangerous, I'm afraid to say because of this they will never be allowed in this country.
