K1FOX Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 These are quality! Really do get the away ends going and look great (don't smell great). We've done quite a few this season as have most teams, does seem like a norm in away ends now, can you get done for it ? I think we should get alot of these in for forest and turn that whole end blue at a designated time. Cheap as **** Aswell. http://www.airsoftworld.net/enola-gaye-ring-pull-coloured-smoke-grenade-blue.html
Leicester Lass Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Just to warn you, the club monitor this board regularly so I'd advise against discussing things like this openly on here.
indierich06 Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Thought they were alright at first, but they were just a bit of a pain in the arse by the second and third. I was right in front of one of the lads who set them off after the second goal and it about choked me and a load of people around me. Then the stewards were on them in about 10 seconds and they were thrown out - they'll probably be banned and I would've thought there could be legal consequences? For what they add to the atmosphere - not much IMO - they're not really worth the hassle.
Captain... Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 First thing is do we need smoke bombs to get a good atmosphere? Especially against Forest? Secondly they are banned for a reason, they are an irritant and people in the crowd may suffer from asthma or have breathing difficulties, Third, if you get caught you could receive a jail term: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-19732166 Finally, at Palace when a couple were let off it didn't help the atmosphere, if anything it killed it as people smelled smoke and looked around to see if there was a fire and people put their hands over their mouths so stopped singing, also if you are going to let one off don't chuck it forwards, can't imagine they weigh much but I wouldn't want a smoke bomb hitting me on the head.
MC Prussian Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 The smoke bombs were not that cool. And they stink. There's better ways of "improving the atmosphere". I'd prefer it if we could set up a massive wand of flags or schals at home and away - Dortmund springs to mind.
BrummieFOX Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Could barely breathe after the 2nd one went off at Palace. They look good though, especially blue ones. Did the people letting them off get kicked out?
Hugo Sanchez Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 They look good but not worth the hassle of getting kicked out or banned. Flags, balloons and confetti add to the atmosphere.

Are you for real?? The smoke bombs were class! Will never forget the flare at Blackpool too. This is the only footballing country where pyro is not actively used and im glad to see an uprise in their use.
DB11 Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Experienced the flare at Blackpool. That was quality. In a closed (roof) stand though I don't think they'd be that welcomed by people experiencing the smoke - even if they did look good from afar.

People stopped singing and turned to look at the smoke, and I saw a number of people covering their mouths, people stopped singing, you probably didn't notice as you were too busy gawping at the pretty colours.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Letting off smoke bombs and flares in crowds is pretty dumb and how you can claim it adds to the atmosphere is beyond me. Rather like the poster who could not believe some people HAVE to work on bank holidays
Ford Super Sunday Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 If someone is going to bring a flare, how about they not be such a coward as to throw it and instead set it off next to themselves. Then they can cope with the ensuing barrage of smoke into your mouth and eyes.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I'm personally a fan. Nothing like stating the obvious
Guest BlueBrett Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Really strange name for the manufacturer to choose for themselves.
ADK Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Not worth getting banned / possible criminal record for.
broughtonblue Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 Think chucking a couple of stink bombs into the away fans would be more entertaining
Ely fox Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I was in the main stand nr the city dug out and the blue flare looked pretty good from where we were sat.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 I can see why a lot of people have a problem with them. In the wrong hands, they can be spectacularly dangerous. I can only imagine the burns they could cause if some mouthbreather decides to lob it as happened in the Wednesday game. I also empathise with the fact that they can cause problems for people with breathing difficulties such as asthma. I certainly get why they're illegal and frowned upon. On the other hand; they do lift the atmosphere a notch when used properly as at Blackpool and if people are sensible with them, I don't see them as being the embodiment of evil as some people do. Simply put, I'm on the fence with them. I wouldn't grass up somebody for using one and would probably enjoy it greatly, but could totally understand why people would rather we did without them.

Is that due to the novelty value and because they are illegal? I'd imagine they'd be really boring after a while.
