Tuna Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Yes, it was a dive, yes he shouldn't have taken it BUT 8 days ago we would have expected to have been watching Bolton play in that game. Gutting circumstances, but we would never have survived extra time and penalties. Watford have some sensational players and were the better team on the day, we were hanging on for the last 30 minutes, we did not deserve it in the end. I hope Brighton do them in the final though! But its over, time to move on and take stock for next season. I do now hope Pearson is allowed to stay, and is given some backing to get 3 or 4 very good quality players in and I would then expect us to be up there fighting for top 2. Look at what happened 3 years ago, the whole Sousa debacle set us back years, we need to keep the majority of the current squad, we may lose Kaspar, but a couple of flair players, a left winger, a quality striker and another Wes at the back and we'll be ok. And we'll win more games in the championship than we will in the premier league.
ADK Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 We have a young team who will likely be better next season. We need to get a replacement left back and then it's not looking too bad, a few extra quality players mybe and we would be looking good. Pearson makes squads better and if we are better next season we have a great chance at promotion.
dynamark Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 If he cannot organise penalty taking then I would be having a serious word bearing in mind it may have cost me many millions of pounds
Spiritwalker Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 On a positive note, teams who consistantly finish near the top of the table eventually do get promoted. Whether or not they stick with the same manager doesn't seem make a difference.
Fox92 Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Keep Pearson. Bring in more/better quality. Rebuild and go for it.

Spiritwalker Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 So keepin Mackay, McDermott and Rodgers didn't help Cardiff, Reading and Swansea?? Unless I am mistaken Cardiff ditched Dave Jones 2 seasons ago despite finishing in the playoffs. Swansea had 3 different managers in 4 yrs before they were promoted.
Kitchandro Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 I don't care right now. I just want to curl up in a ball and forget about football. I hope there's some chocolate or something else sweet in the house.
cjslcfc Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Unless I am mistaken Cardff ditched Dave Jones 2 seasons ago despite finishing in the playoffs. and then kept Mackay after getting in the play offs the following season. What about the other two examples, Reading losing in play offs and keeping McDermott. Oh look, they won the league. Same for Cardiff. Same for Rodgers at Swansea after they didn't do anything special for a while under him
peach0000 Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Anyone who is being positive can't be real fans you should be feeling gutted like your life is over not looking to the future.
katieakita Posted 12 May 2013 Posted 12 May 2013 Anyone who is being positive can't be real fans you should be feeling gutted like your life is over not looking to the future. Well over the last 40 or so years have had plenty of ups and downs but the season is over now. Even if you somehow think your life is over it will go on for the rest of us and next season,s planning would have already started.
