Mapperleyfox Posted 13 December 2013 Posted 13 December 2013 Cheers fellas - also had the option of the BG building as used to work at the british gas site on Aylestone Rd but my car park pass has expired!
Mapperleyfox Posted 13 December 2013 Posted 13 December 2013 Tudor Road area which isn't that far from Western Road is open to anyone. Cool - is that straight on via narboro' rd past braunstone gate?
Bert Posted 13 December 2013 Posted 13 December 2013 Cool - is that straight on via narboro' rd past braunstone gate?Drive straight down Narborough as if you are heading into town. You'll go past a big tesco on your right, then you'll come to a set of traffic lights at the big junction, if you carry on straight over that's Tudor road there. Plenty of side streets if Tudor is full.
davieG Posted 6 January 2014 Author Posted 6 January 2014 An experimental parking scheme was due to start in the West End of Leicester today. Leicester City Council bosses said the resident permit scheme was being introduced in a number of streets off Narborough Road to make sure enough on-street parking was available for residents. Since December 16, unauthorised motorists have been given warning notices rather than a fine. Enforcement was due to start properly today. The scheme will run initially until April 2015, during which time it can be adjusted if needed, or made into a permanent order. Finnegan Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 This is such bullshit. You can still park for three hours for 50p even without a permit. Blatantly to appease football fans. The only time parking is ever a problem is match days, otherwise it's totally unnecessary. Just another stealth tax for residents.
Manny2802 Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 isn't it only till 4.30 Mon-Sat anyway so night games aren't affected either
MrSpaM Posted 6 January 2014 Posted 6 January 2014 Was in full force this morning, people getting tickets in my area left right and center when I left for work. This is such bullshit. True it's only 50p for three hours, but you can only use the space directly in front of the parking meter, if you pay on the meter and park anywhere else on my street people have been getting warnings. The parts that are designated residents only aren't supposed to be used by the people using the meters, just people with residents permits. Not sure how well it'll be policed but just a warning to anybody paying on the meters and just parking where they like. isn't it only till 4.30 Mon-Sat anyway so night games aren't affected either It's until 6PM mon-sat, and you can park anywhere you like on those roads on a Sunday so thats something else worth noting for Sunday games.
