How to pick the right wife.

Oh for the ignorant bliss of the early 20s lefty

Again, if you believe that, you're a fvking idiot - not that that comes as a surprise in your case. This isn't a case of marrying for love/convenience, it's a case of having a basic level of respect for the person you marry.

I wouldn't particularly say I'm "lefty" either; I voted conservative last election. But yeah, if disagreeing with your idiotic views defines me as a "lefty", then I'd wear that label with pride.

So you agree with this stuff then?

Vast majority of it I didn't.

Though I don't believe just because some men want a woman who is young and would rather look after the children instead of working whilst the man is the main breadwinner should be described as a bigoted, misogynistic asshole with no respect for women.

You've managed to come across as a intolerant reactionist who appears to believe anyone who has a different outlook on life as yourself doesn't deserve to even have an opinion.

Some of the article was mysoginistic though, that was what the humour was mainly based on.

tl;dr - You're an idiot.

So you're an angry male feminist. I see a cheating butch trouser-wearing lesbian in your future.

I must admit I only skimmed the article. I didn't read the bit where he said you shouldn't respect your wife and on having a 2nd glance I still can't see it. But if he did say that then clearly he is wrong on that point. Mutual respect should be taken as a given.

I'm not arguing that at all, a lot of it was.

Some people have been criticised and had insults thrown at them on here for expressing some pretty normal opinions though.

Why do people care so much about this? It's a blog from someone that none of us know who, as far as we know, has no power. As long as he's not marrying your daughter, so what?

Have you read the article thoroughly, or do you have comprehension issues? I have no problem with one man earning the money and the woman staying at home, if that's what they both want.

That's not really what the article is talking about though, is it? It comes up with nice lines such as "No woman wants to work but it takes some of them a long time to figure that out". That IS bigoted, no question about it. What about "if a woman drinks, she is a slut"? How are they "pretty normal" opinions?

Yes I have read it.

It is a terible article that is very misogynistic.

I was arguing your quote where you said anyone who believes the below is a 'bigot'. I don't think that's the case.

anyone who thinks She can't drink or have career prospects?  She can't have a stepdad and must be at minimum of 5 years younger than you?

I could have worded it better, but it would have been a much lengthier post. I have no issues with if one person wants to stay at home while the other works, if it's agreed to by both parties. Stopping your wife from working because you don't want her to is different I believe - though, I assume you wouldn't marry someone if you had such a difference of opinion. It's all about context really.

The age thing, I don't have a problem with people wanting to marry younger people per se, it's the way that it's worded in the article which makes it misogynistic. Again, it's about the context of it.

Now the alcohol and "broken family" things are just ridiculous.

Don't disagree with a word of that.

The real question is if the woman has big tits and is fat, it that acceptable

As a rule of thumb never date, never mind marry, any woman you couldn't pick up and carry!!
