jonthefox Posted 5 June 2013 Posted 5 June 2013 Only a story so far, but this might keep Kasper with us. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/wigan-athletic/10099532/Steve-Bruce-targeted-by-Dave-Whelan-for-surprise-return-to-Wigan.html
Corky Posted 5 June 2013 Posted 5 June 2013 Would be amusing if it happened, Hull fans would be furious and attempt to troll and hate the Wigan fans in outrage, only to find they aren't any.

That reminds me of last season when a load of thickos from Wolves started trying to troll Wigan after they relegated them, it took until about the fifteeth bloke had turned up before they started to realise they were on the Wigan Warriors Rugby League forum.

Harry - LCFC Posted 5 June 2013 Posted 5 June 2013 Seems very unlikely, why would Bruce go to Wigan? Hull are better placed in almost every respect.

Harry - LCFC Posted 6 June 2013 Posted 6 June 2013 Hull weren't in Europe or holding the F.A. Cup last time I checked. Why is that people feel the need to give a slight mocking tone when they disagree? Anyway, I'll list the reasons why Bruce might stay at non-European side Hull: Premier League. Quite a plus. Premier League. Such a big plus it had to be mentioned twice. Going forwards, unlike Wigan who are heading quite the opposite direction Bigger club, some might disagree but for me Hull definitely have more potential to achieve than Wigan who could only ever bumble along at the bottom of the PL. Possibly a huge rebuilding task at Wigan, not so much at Hull. He's also already at Hull which makes starting the season a little easier. I also reject both the reasons for moving to Wigan that you've given me. FA Cup holders - so what? That's not his achievement and doesn't make him any more likely to succeed which is what he's there for after all. Europe won't be taken at all seriously, you can't expect to compete against Valencia and the like when you've got a Championship squad.

I was merely pointing out how far being in Europe and holding the F.A. Cup has fallen in terms of being an attractive proposition for players and managers alike in the last decade or two.
