peach0000 Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 I went into to the fanstore today to get a print on my shirt as its 25% off and on the sheet with prices on it says you have to be 18 to buy the sky bet patches. Being just under 18 i didn't buy them even though they weren't in stock anyway but if i did get them it wouldn't make me think lets go and gamble. Just thought it was ridiculous and its rules gone to far. Also i was wondering if clubs like Stoke being sponsored buy a betting company sell their shirts to under 18s
ScouseFox Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Everyone who advertises gambling and alcohol on their shirts has sponsorless kits for children. I think everyone anyway. My sister plays for Everton u18s and her kit she's given to wear by the club is sponsored by Chang Soda because it can't be sponsored by Chang Beer.
Fox92 Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 That is ridiculous. Teams advertise gambling on their shirts and around their ground. Same with alcohol. Are you allowed to buy a matchday programme even though it has singha beer advertised in it?
Toffee_Fox Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Everton can't sell junior kits with Chang on as its a beer.
Guest MattP Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 WTF? When did this change, I got the Carling badges on when I was an early teen?
Mark_w Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Everton can't sell junior kits with Chang on as its a beer. Lucky kids.
Guest MattP Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Lucky kids. Too right, how nice do those plain jerseys look without the advertising?
Tom17LCFC Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Everton can't sell junior kits with Chang on as its a beer. What about really small old men who can't fit into adult shirts?
Poakey Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 What about really small old men who can't fit into adult shirts? Not to worry mate!
Toffee_Fox Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 Everton don't do women's shirts so a lot of women buy junior shirts, they do have the option to have 'Chang' printed onto it if you provide ID in the store.
Toffee_Fox Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 WTF? When did this change, I got the Carling badges on when I was an early teen? This new rule came in about 3-4 years ago, previous to that both Everton and Liverpool sold children's shirts on with Carlsberg & Chang on.
21st Century Fox Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 That is ridiculous. Teams advertise gambling on their shirts and around their ground. Same with alcohol. Are you allowed to buy a matchday programme even though it has singha beer advertised in it? I think it's the fact that it looks pretty contradictory having a child walking around as a mobile billboard for a product they aren't even legally able to consume themselves. Those sponsorless Everton shirts look so much better!
