Dyer is totally underrated. Being a 'number 10 behind the striker' role in real life myself (but played on winger in a 4 3 3 like Nugent gets shoved at times). Im telling you playing the wing is the hardest position. Its near impossible to not have quiet games due to you relying on the rest of the team. The reason Dyer has 'quiet' games is because we are crap and lose the battle in the middle on those games.

 

hes had tons of top games for us and hes so underrated its pretty sad.

In the league on season he scored 11 from the wing, which is top draw for a winger trust me. Also I seem to remember they nearly always important goals at important times(off top of head a couple at Cheltehan=m, vital winners vs Yeovil and Colchester, A late winner at the Galpharm, A cracking finish vs Hereford to put us 2-1 up which was the moment I thought we've done it, a late winner and cracking finish at Sixfields..tbh every goal he scored literally was a winner..how many points did he gain us?)

 

Far to good for league 1. Then he steps up and was a vital component in that 09/10 quality season. People will say 3 goals? But again, for a winger its ok and again look at the goals 80th minute+ winner at the Riverside(a game that made me believe we could put a challenge that season as before that we had a few crap results). A late winner at Bloomfield road(again 1-1 tight game wins it for us..and again when we had just hit a blip of no win in four and blackpool knocking us out the playoffs if they won). third goal 1-0 down 90th minute at Ashton gate and he goes and scores straight away ..another vital goal..again 3 goals that all were vital winners/equalisers.

 

Im not going to keep going through the seasons but last season he was outstanding at times..Hes scored some cracking goals out the top of my head(a 3-2 loss at Bristol City he scored a worldy, Bolton Last season at 1-1 again, even that early cracking win at the Riverside he scored a 90th winner) literally every bloody goal he scores is vital..its not luck, its easy to get the 4th 5th 6th goals in a rout(Deeney hat trick the other week for example)..but vital goals at vital times..are worth double in my opinion.

 

Oh and to finish it off hes scored against Man City and Real Madrid . God what a crap player he is. One of the best servants the clubs had since the 00's and top of that actually, all be it, not the most talented, vastly underrated and like stated above, literally comes alive at big moments.

 

IMO its like Gerrard Vs Lampard. Lampard has scored more goals tha Gerrard but a vast majority of people would say Gerrard is technically the more gifted player, because hes scored vital goals so many times in his career as Lamps has had a ton of pens and scoring hat tricks in 6-0 8-0 Chelsea wins...

 

29 goals in 214 apperances = 1 in 7 roughly. again not bad for a winger.

 

I scored for my team 4 in 16 on the wing and 13 in 10 behind the striker...wing is hard to be a MOM or impress totally..any goal you score is like goldust..you dont knick 5 or 6 tap ins or 1 on 1's. The wingers performances usually are noticed most by the results. If the team wins the wingers usually put in a better shift than the others.

 

To finish this essay just look at this:

5 seasons that Dyer has been at the club:

1st(L1), 5th, 10th, 9th, 6th 

5 seasons before he came to the club:

22nd, 19th, 16th, 15th, 18th(Prem)

It's ironic reading all the Dyer critics bashing the Dyer supporters for being biased. It's all black and white isn't it? I suppose it's mostly black though with Dyer. Is he the blackest guy in the squad? And before anyone calls me racist, I have once shook hands with a black man many years ago.
