separator Posted 28 August 2013 Author Posted 28 August 2013 It also said the premiom numbers are not meant to be used in that way and could result in fines, I'm sure you are doing nothing illegal by registering a premium rate number at your home. Can't be anymore illegal than some random company trying to call you up and sell you something you don't want. I had someone ringing me up the other day trying to flog me a debt management plan, hung up soon as I said I had no debts.
Rincewind Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 I think what it may be they won't take responsinility if they get complaints. I'll reread it. There is a guideline to follow believe it or not. They told You and Yours: "Premium-rate numbers are not designed to be used in this way and we would strongly discourage any listeners from adopting this idea, as they will be liable under our code for any breaches and subsequent fines that result."
kingfox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Love Cold Callers, have a great time with them. Like the time one called, and I said wait someone is at the door, then I rolled around on the floor, shouting, "no I won't give you any of my money, get off me you b*****d. They soon put the phone down. I also like to sing to them.

Captain... Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Interesting article, I'm not sure how they can claim premium numbers aren't designed to be used that way. That is exactly why the exist to make it cost effective to answer the phone. He has 2 options stop answering his phone or make it worth his while. To be honest I hate premium phone numbers, I get so pissed off when I receive an automated message from my bank saying they have flagged up my credit card for unusual activity. Please call this premium rate number to confirm security hasn't been compromised. Fvck off.
21st Century Fox Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 This is a fantastic way to handle them...
