darko2k7 Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 How ur lot can take the piss out of a name change is astonishing Why you would care what we think is also astonishing .
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Forget the stadium name, that's just a terrible name for a drinks company. Nothing about it suggests anything, uses "i" when all reputable companies stopped, doesn't suggest being a drink or foodstuff... just sounds like something a marketer spat out at the end of a committee meeting after everyone else slagged of his real ideas, and somehow got the go-ahead

I propose improving the name further. How do young, hip Derby fans ( ) like the sound of the iPro xTREME 2k stadium?

Kitchandro Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 This has got me thinking tbh. People have a fair point when they say 'it's a new ground with a new name, and our ground always had a sponsored name so who cares if they change it', or something along those lines. It's not like changing St James' Park's name or if they had changed Filbo's name to something sponsored. But on the other hand, will our fans ever come to love our stadium with that attitude? Filbert Street is never coming back. The likelihood of this ground being renovated into a beautiful,old-fashioned looking atmospheric arena is minimal IMO, as much as I'd love it to happen more than anything else. Will Derby fans ever love the iPro Stadium? Will we ever love ours? I don't even know what to call ours tbh. I can't call it Filbert Way or Freemen's Wharf, people just look at you funny and haven't really got a clue what you're on about a lot of the time. I can't say the King Power without cringeing and the KP just sounds awful and tacky, and is too much like KC (as in Hulls' ground, not as in KC and the Sunshine Band). It's just a sad thought to be thinking 50 years down the line and the place still won't feel like home. I don't even know what the ground will be called by then, it will probably be in it's 15th sponsor, maybe from a company that doesn't even exist yet. It will probably still look dull and ugly, and we'll still probably be complaining about the atmosphere. And worst of all, will the young fans even care? I think the apathy towards these kind of things with newer stadiums just show how unpopular they are.
Ashley Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Respect to Derby County and the fans for proposing the idea of moving the away fans for next season, why cant Leicester City listen to us?
Happy Fox Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Respect to Derby County and the fans for proposing the idea of moving the away fans for next season, why cant Leicester City listen to us? Because the above powers namely Barclay and co are bellends.
