Parafox Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I'm from Lincolnshire. The vast majority of UK born and bred people haven't a clue where that is. That's rather a sweeping generalisation as it's such a large county, bordered with Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, East Yorks, Humberside... unless you're asking only Londoners
lavrentis Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I really hope that isn't true. I can say it is. I just end up saying it's to the east or around 100 mile north from London

"Sheffield and go east" tends to to be my description (which is funny because I've had to use that description to people from Sheffield...). I used to be surprised given it's the second biggest county in the country but you get used to it. That was before I moved to London where you expect it because, yunno, it's outside London. By the way, you're forgetting Lincolnshire's 18m county border with Northamptonshire
Jimothy Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 By the way, you're forgetting Lincolnshire's 18m county border with Northamptonshire You learn something new everyday!! I just checked (not that I didn't believe you ) and it's true. I thought how could they have a border with Leicestershire, Rutland and Cambridgeshire in the way, but it's like they're reaching out to touch each other

Dan Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Gonna do both the American one and Europe. I'd be shocked if I got even 20 American states. Europe I'll be annoyed with anything other than full marks.

Alf Bentley Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 USA 47/50: Missed Minnesota, Montana & Kentucky Europe 46/47: Missed Monaco UK: 47/48: Missed Bristol....Bristol?! Since when did Bristol deserve its own jurisdiction? Had even tried Avon... Would have struggled to get more than about half of the American states in the right place, though.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 I wonder how many counties Americans could pick out on a map of the UK? They couldn't pick their bleedin' noses, without help .Dumb arsed Yanks.
Dan Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Countries of Europe; http://www.sporcle.com/games/g/europe I got 40/47 47/47. Get in
Dan Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 How good are people at our counties? http://www.sporcle.com/games/g/englandgeocounties That is ****ing foul. I got 47/48 and I had 47 with six whole minutes left. Rutland? RUTLAND?! And there was me looking at a county just north west of London that looked blank.
Jimothy Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 If anyone fancies a real challenge http://www.sporcle.com/games/g/world
