davieG Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 http://www.buzzfeed.com/robinedds/its-thanksgiving-so-we-asked-some-brits-to-label-the-us-stat The authors seem to think we did embarrassingly badly, I think reading the comments at the bottom tells the real story.
Guest MattP Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I'd do pretty well on that purely on the fact I follow US Sports religiously. Some decent efforts in it to be fair, the top one is a disgrace mind.
purpleronnie Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I wonder how many counties Americans could pick out on a map of the UK?
Matt Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I wonder how many counties Cities Americans could pick out on a map of the UK? For the record, I hold my hands up struggling with labelling America, but as one of the comments at the bottom of the link say's I bet alot of American's would just simply label England as London .
Captain... Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 http://www.buzzfeed.com/summeranne/americans-try-to-place-european-countries-on-a-map The flipside is yanks labelling countries in Europe. Would be interesting to see how well Brits did at this one too. As for US states, I used to be able to name all 50 and have a decent idea where they are on a map, but presented with a blank map and no names, I would struggle to remember all 50 let alone know where they went.
Jimothy Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I'd do alright, but I'm a bit of a geek for these things. I know most round the edge, gets tricky in the middle. It's not even a case of Americans struggling to label British counties, I think the vast majority would struggle to label European countries

Vacamion Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 We shouldn't get too smug - we are the country which produced a celebrity who asked where "East Angular" was.

Zingari Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 There are some funny answers proving we've at least got a sense of humour . Someone put "Aliens" in Nevada and North Dakota, South Dakota , err ..... further South Dakota Florida "crocodiles"

Finnegan Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Countries of Europe; http://www.sporcle.com/games/g/europe I got 40/47 I got 46 but I consider my geography reasonably good, I had 46 after just a few minutes. What did I miss? Vatican ****ing City. I was staring at the map getting quite frustrated. as I couldn't even see a gap! Took me a while to notice the hole in Yugoslavia as I didn't think Kosovo would be on it. Content with that though! I got about 40 odd US states, I always forget the Mid West and New England ones. Shockingly I forgot Kentucky as well, duh.
