volpeazzurro Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Ill wager this. For all those people shouting for GTF to start (even some, with Waghorn).. you will notice the difference in how we play. And not for the better. I dont think people fully appreciate the impact that both Vardy AND Nugent have to this team..being a striker IS NOT all about scoring goals. Its also about running into channels, keeping the opposition defence on the back foot and bringing others in. A strike pair of Nugent and GTF or Nugent and Waghorn, Id entertain. A front two of GTF and Waghorn?..... not a chance. The pace has gone. I agree with the vast majority of this but I haven't actually seen Nugent busting a gut to run into channels this season at all, he meandours about seemingly uninterested half the time. I personally would like to see Nugent take the Vardy role with Waghorn behind to hold the ball up a little and add a bit of steel, he's also not afraid to have a shot (unlike smiley boy). It will be interesting to see in this new position whether Nugent's industry returns.

Drill it in to Nugent that he has to do some running around to compensate for the loss of Vardy and the lack of pace/tenacity from GTF which Vardy has in abundance. Plus, GTF actually deserves a start and after the goal yesterday he'll be buzzing to start. It's a wonder what confidence can do and GTF is looking good right now.

Then again I am talking an out the Fa dinosaurs who will do absolutely Fook All about it !! This action was worse than willsheres 1finger salute to the man city fans,he got a 2 game ban. INCONSISTENCY FA SORT YOURSELVES OUT !! fa can do f.a as the ref dealt with it . surely you know thats the rule ?

The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Waghorn knows how Millwall work and will be burning to play against them. I think he should start and give their defense a good run for the money. This is my opinion too. He'll still have his match fitness after being on loan so he needs to keep his hand in in order to say so. Another couple of games without festuring and he'll be back in the vicious circle of not being match fit but needing (but not getting) game time. I rate him still, when hes been matchfit and playing in his proper position hes never looked anything other than a good player for us) but we simply don't have time to allow him to get his match fitness back in games we have to be winning
