Mark_w Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 After our collapse at the end of last season, I guess it's only natural to worry about the possibility of us repeating it. Anyway, I decided it would be best to use stats to comfort myself even though they don't make any real difference to our situation this season, thought I'd share my findings. In the last 21 games of last season we picked up a grand total of 27 points, scraping into the play-offs on the final day. If we were to replicate that over the next 21 games of this season we'd finish with 81 points, which would have been good enough for automatic promotion last season. Obviously the competition is completely different this season and hopefully we won't be repeating it, but it shows just how impressive our start has been. I thought that was pretty interesting anyway.
Munshi Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 We do bottle it quite a lot, this season just feels a bit different, we never once played as good as we did yesterday in the whole of last season. Happy days
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 We won't bottle is this season as we have Nugent, Vardy, Wood, GTF, Schlupp, and potentially Kevin Phillips compared to last seasons Harry Kane.
Guest shearfox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 We have added experience to our side, Pearson realised we lacked that last season and has brought in players who have gained promotion and can help the younger players when things aren't quite going well.
Fox92 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 We've added experience and I believe that will be the difference. Even if they arn't playing, players such as GTF and Hammond will be vital as they've been through it before. You know, their attitude and knowledge can easily rub off on the rest of the squad, because we are a younger side. Potentially Kevin Phillips as well. All these players are just as important off the pitch. Nigel's signings have been quite clever.
KFS Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I hope to god we don't bottle it again, I can't take another playoff drama. Dare I say it, I'd rather finish outside of the playoffs than be in it. Automatic places or no promotion at all for me, I'll be supporting City no matter what next season.

You would take 7th place over 6th?
