The whole world smiles Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 couple of Leicester fans on twitter having a open conversation about them buying pyro, in just 5 minutes you know where they sit, what games they intend to let them off at, the price, where they got them from, their names and the fact they all chipped in £3.00 how stupid do you have to be? Stop the presses people chatting S***t on twitter shocker. really who cares?
AndWhat? Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Sadly, that is a claim that you cannot back up. For instance, pyrotechnics are banned in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There is a lengthy documentation why that is: http://www.veko-online.de/index.php/archiv-hauptmenu/46-archiv-ausgabe-2-12/138-polizei-legalisierung-oder-verbot-von-pyrotechnik-in-fussballstadien (Use Google Translate to get the English version) Yes, I know they are banned but that doesn't stop them! This isn't about if the authorities like them it's if the fans like them.
MC Prussian Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Yes, I know they are banned but that doesn't stop them! This isn't about if they authorities like them it's if the fans like them. Whenever Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 meet up, you can be sure the game will be special. However, some fans get really worked up about that fixture and what better way to show your affection by disguising yourself and setting off a few flares here and there, directly aimed at the opposition's fans? This is from last October, by the way. Yes, some fans might like pyrotechnics. Some. But not all. The authorities are there to make sure a football match can be played safe and sound. Obviously, they have to be interested in containing the use of pyrotechnic articles. Because it's illegal.

We aren't discussing how safe they are, we are discussing how accepted they are from the wider fan bases. The Unity had friends over from Super 3 Aris for that game and were just showing off anyway!

Such actions by the ultras are no longer focused on the game (football), it's basically groups of people trying to show off and impress either the opposition or affiliated clubs' fans. Why not meeting up outside the stadium and fire rockets, flares and smoke bombs at each other for a couple of minutes instead? It's about the same effect. And a lot safer for the majority of football spectators.

Not saying that Dortmund fans were blameless there (Desperados (Nazis) and some of the Unity were involved) but a lot of those idiots were actually Super 3 from Aris who have a fan friendship with BVB. EDIT: Beaten to it...

C-man Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Them bloody Greeks, eh? Seem to have had a fair bit of practice at rioting over the past few years...

And a lot safer for the majority of football spectators. They probably do that as well! It obviously wasn't the only reason for that pyro show but I'm sure they went extra mad because of it. Once again, i don't condone the throwing of flares (especially at your own keeper ) but out of the hundreds of pyro shows every week that is the anomaly.
blueonyou Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 More importantly, I'm suprised we've not had a Alliance Smoke Bomb for just £19.99 yet......
