foxes_rule1978 Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 QPR have signed 4 strikers today! WTF! Maiga, Doyle, Will Keane and some Brazilian kid (bet harry watched some youtube videos on him).. Desperate or what! He'll still complain he hasn't got enough players... Gone Palace now? Maiga is terrible... Doyle is an has been, the Brazilian player has hit 3 goals in 19 and well Will Keane is very unproven. Good business Redknapp, but I don't think having a high quantity of strikers matters it is more about quality...
Harry - LCFC Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Don't think any of them are as good as Austin. You can't play 'em all 'arry. Weaker side IMO.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Forest worry me as they've made some good signings. If they don't go up though they are fooked. Last nights win was big for them; glad Danny Graham has gone Boro though
Wink Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Don't think any of them are as good as Austin. You can't play 'em all 'arry. Weaker side IMO. Of course not. Just shows how desperate he and the club is. If they were fully fit they'd have 7 strikers on their books And in relation how well Nige has us running. We have a settled team, and a strong squad. Very happy with this transfer window looking back now! 3 points tomorrow and a draw between QPR and Burnley and even better!
Brauny Fox Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Shocking from QPR, I actually think that they are a weaker team even though they have signed so many players! It stinks of desperation and these signings will take time to bed in. Time they don't really have.....only a matter of time before the fans get on their backs for not scoring and the whole place is just pure frustration! You can't buy a good dressing room atmosphere and a feel good factor around the club.

crisp packet Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Typical Harry sh*t or bust? Quantity not quality ? Lots of loans? Happy it's all over, squad intact and two additions who have played there part in wins already ... Good January all round. COYB .

Hack Posted 1 February 2014 Posted 1 February 2014 Good window if we appear to be keeping all our key players. Sometimes its not who you buy, but who you keep. Great quote and makes a lot of sense. It appears the club has a strategy in going forward towards promotion. They are clearly working plan A. Which we will get promoted. Not committing to any player existing or new long term. They have to be prudent in not over committing funds just in case we don't go up. Also part of plan A has to be to determine who that is in the current roster is going to transition to the PL. Which is why I guess a number of players are still out of contract. The club would not want to commit PL league wages without being there yet. Player agents will be pushing for the most they can get, but the club has and is clearly resisting doing this. The same goes for any new players we would have got in the Jan window. We would have likely had to provide wages related to a potential promotion. The club clearly were not going to do that. I would expect the club to look at loans to fill the depth requirement and probably fringe 1st team players from the PL at that. Plan A is get promotion at any cost. The club will be able to pay wages for fringe PL players on loan for the next 4 months to make the push to promotion without having to commit long term to them. Once it is clear where we will be playing next season, expect to see more of our out of contract players resign and if not, it will be because the club don't consider them PL quality. Well that's how I see it!!
