Dan Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 If we go up, I hope we beat our AWAY points tally the last time we were there - only 4 points (4-1 at Hull and 3-3 at Man City). We won 5 of our first 6 home games, but it all went horribly wrong from there and we ended up with 30 points - 6 away from safety. I enjoyed it up to November - after that, with Coyle jumping ship and being replaced by Brainless Brian (Laws), all Bunley fans knew we were going down. 4 away points?! Imagine losing 1-4 to someone who only took one more point away that season. Hull
LanguedocFox Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Counter-factual discussions are always interesting, not least because it gives you the chance to reflect on past judgements. For instance, when we went up after beating Derby in the play-offs, I thought we'd have no problem surviving in the Premiership - after all, we'd been tugging at the coat-tails for three years by then, and we had a good and experienced manager in charge. On the other hand, when we went up after beating Palace, I thought we'd struggle, because we had a bit of a makeshift team, we hardly signed any players during the summer, and we had a manager with relatively little experience. Which all goes to show why I am a writer rather than a football manager. Sooooo. Without wishing to tempt fate: I think that if we had gone up last season, we would have struggled this year, but we would probably have stayed up: the core of the side has real class about it. However, I think that if we go up this season, and we add a couple of players - probably don't need more than three or four - we'll do OK, and probably finish mid-table. There, that's fvcked our chances, good and proper.
Webbo Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 If we'd have gone up last season I can promise you that I wouldn't be worrying about Crystal Palace.
FoxInTheBox89 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 W G A F? My thoughts exactly. Shouldnt this be in a different room. Thought we was taking any Leicester City here
cornishfox83 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Okay 8 points, two wins against Man United and a point at home to StokeHow many points for a win???!!!!!
HEGGSY Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 We'd be playing Europa League football next season, it's alright though, champions league in 2015/16

At least you can sleep safely knowing that plodder Coyle has realised the grass isn't always greener.
lgfualol Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 How many points for a win???!!!!! I was adding them to my previous 1 point prediction. I didnt make that clear and now the other comment makes sense.
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Freedman must be gutted as well. Their promotion was based on all his good work and now look at the poor bloke! His own fault for walking out for a sideways move.
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Holloway has to be one of the most over rated managers ever It really is criminal that he has two promotions to Pearson's nil. It's a no-brainer for me who's a better manager.
LCFC FOX Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Holloway had one good season with Blackpool, I'll give him that, that was impressive. But for me a one off season for him. For Palace he just took over a team Dougie Freedman built. He was stupid to leave for Bolton.
