fuchsntf Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Don't tell me we weren't lucky at Leeds!! Nobody is lucky at Leeds.....just to listening to them telling us, and whining about the world ,.how they are the chosen ones is a curse. Hovis....you can keep it.
cc_star Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 We've been lucky with injuries, everything else we deserve. An unknown amount of luck in tackle related injuries like broken bones etc. Which make up just some of a clubs injuries, which also come from other sources, Nige's team research signings well, but also comes down to training methods & Nige is a huge believer in sports sciences and this gives you the edge in that regard. The most famous example is looking at how many similar injuries Arsenal players have had over the years robbing them of key players
Brainy Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 No, it isn't. It's the other sides not being good enough to win. Which we contribute to how?
dorsetboy Posted 1 March 2014 Author Posted 1 March 2014 hercules as in herculean also when i meant luck i didnt mean just us i meant the way results seem to have always gone our way with other teams lets take today we are winning so could do with other teams dropping to extend the gap what happens qpr draw forest are losing to wigan with waghorn scoring
Foxes Blue Blood Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Good Luck today to the Foxes, Leeds, Burnley (I think!) and Wigan. see, you make your own luck, think positive!
muzzy1981 Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Theres no such thing as luck over the course of a season, maybe in the play offs luck can sometimes be the difference.
Tielemans63 Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Charlton were the lucky ones today. Lucky they were only beaten by 3.
dorsetboy Posted 1 March 2014 Author Posted 1 March 2014 Charlton were the lucky ones today. Lucky they were only beaten by 3. agreed BUT today as an example before any kicks offs the ideal scenario would have been us to win , and forest, derby and qpr to drop points to make the gap bigger to third and what happens we win, forest lose ,qpr draw and derby lose now forest ,qpr and derby could have all won and kept on the pressure

We got the job done and those teams didn't - luck doesn't cone in to it although I'm sure you'll disagree!
Renart Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 ahum - *clears throat* - I believe that Hemingway said it best: 'Every day is a new day. It is better to be lucky. But I would rather be exact. Then when luck comes you are ready.' - Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea It is possible that some might consider us to have been fortunate this season in all of the situations described previously but if you don't put yourself in the position to take advantage of that fortune then it really is worth nothing at all. That is what we have done.
notnow john Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 What can only be describe as a Hercules style job? I've never heard of a Hercules style job, what does it mean? Greek mythology? Large aircraft? Poirot? Bad Eddie Murphy films? 30 odd games I and you're putting our league position down to luck. A position we own by an 8 point margin. I really worry about some of our fans, thick as 2 short planks. Steptoes horse, surely.
