now i know youve jumped in here thinking wtf luck no way

but what i mean is although nige has done what can only be described as a hercules style job in guiding us to where we are now every team needs a bit of a rub of the green.

its just been amazing this season the amount of pens we have had, last minute goals and then teams below us have dropped points when we have or the results we have needed have gone our way.

thats why i think this season its just meant to be

None of those things are down to luck

Pens:

When you have lots of pace and run at poor championship defenders, you get penalties. Was the same for palace last season.

Late goals:

A well coached team, that never gives up. This is te sign of a good team, Utd under Ferguson did this forever.

Other teams losing:

That's just other teams not being able to turn defeats into draws and draws into wins. Simple and nothing I do with us having luck.

Other teams dropping points, which is out of our control, is luck

How is that luck? It's the other teams not being good enough in the day to beat what's in front of them, that's not lucky. It's teams either being poorly prepared or inferior to their opposition on the day.

I don't believe in luck at the end of the day the best team wins the league and if you weren't good enough to win enough games then you don't deserve to win the league.

I suppose the difference this season is that all the little things that usually go against us haven't this time round. By that I mean all the really poor refereeing decisions that always cost us points, injuries and suspensions to key players right when we're playing our toughest games of the season, other teams 'getting lucky' etc.

You could view it in any 1 of 3 ways,

We are, at last, getting a bit of luck

We are, at last, not getting any bad luck

We've had no luck, good or bad and we are exactly where we deserve to be

Luck can be worth a few points a season, it can also cost you a few but never as many as you think. For instance we gain a lucky penalty in the 60th minute and win 1-0, that does not mean the game would have finished 0-0 if the penalty was not given.

What can only be describe as a Hercules style job?

I've never heard of a Hercules style job, what does it mean? Greek mythology? Large aircraft? Poirot? Bad Eddie Murphy films?

30 odd games I and you're putting our league position down to luck. A position we own by an 8 point margin.

I really worry about some of our fans, thick as 2 short planks.

We have so been unlucky playing teams at the wrong time eg Blackpool when they were flying with ince playing.

Been unlucky with the weather also playing in the storm and some awful pitches, coped very well with it though.

"Good team creates their own luck" (or something like that), who said that. Shankly? Paisley? ... Anyhow, I agree. I'm not one for all this lucky stuff. "Oh, we were unlucky today" no, you just didn't take your chances.

To get out of this division you need hardwork, a good team ethic and players that will give 100%. You don't need superstars. Ask Reading, ask Hull, ask Southampton, Blackpool, Palace, Cardiff or ask any team that has got promoted from this division. You can't buy it... Things might go our way at times, but we've created that. It's not our fault when Vardy runs across a defender who brings him down for a penalty.

Eh?

It just means we're better than them if we consistently haven't dropped points & they have... Like Cardiff were better than us last season or Reading & Southampton the season before... We dropped points while they reasonably consistently never because we weren't as good as them, what's does luck have to do with it? (beyond the occasional instance, not over a season)

We have been lucky this season, not in the penalties which you win for playing fast football & running at defenders with pace, not in other teams not being as consistently good us... But in occasional instances like Morgan not being sent off so we could go on to get 1pt at Forest & probably rob them of 2pts, the Leeds game we were lucky, not in Nugent's fast feet for the goal, but we rode our luck at the back & could have been 3 down by the time we grabbed the winner.

Anyway, luck is something you earn by playing on the front foot, playing with skill & resolve, never giving up and going the extra mile. Luck is something down to the players who work so hard & the manager who's made that possible

Not really. We're just better and more consistent than the opposition.

There is no such thing as luck.

There is no f**king luck just hard work and steel determination from everyone at the club to get promotion.

We are 100% focused on the job.

It's not luck. Burnley are on 63 points from 32 games which is pretty much 2 points a game...which is title winning form usually. We have just been exceptionally good and consistent this season...the other teams near us are actually having great seasons. Our season has just been extraordinary so far. Our ability to grind out results this year is a major factor, and keeping ourselves in the game when, we are not playing well.
