Melv1golf Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I know this has been mentioned in other threads but I think this deserves a thread of its own. It has amazed me just lately that given the style of football we play and the success we are having this season why we don't sell out at home every week! I can remember the last time we got promoted you would really struggle to get a ticket. Now I don't go every week as other commitments don't allow and obviously away tickets are fairly difficult to get hold of because of the priority system (IMO the fairest way to do it) so when the tickets for barnsley became available I thought yes we'll have a bit of that. I waited for my correct time (people with previous history) logged on and was told by the web site that I couldn't purchase as I wasn't a season ticket holder, this went on for over an hour with the same result so I phoned the ticket office and after 3/4 of an hour on the phone was told that although there were hundreds of tickets available it was one per person! I have seen on other threads people mentioning how difficult it is to purchase tickets and obviously the more difficult it is the more people won't bother!!!!
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Nothing shocks me anymore about our ticket office. I dread to think what it will be like if we get in the prem. The place will implode.
Raj Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I must be very lucky...I've never had any issues...touch wood!
Cincinnati Fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 In any other customer facing business treated customer like the lcfc ticket they would go out of business But lcfc fans love the club and can't go anywere else so the can get away with it

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Nope never had a problem in all of the 18 years that I've been going

To be fair, it clearly says this on the away tickets section beneath Barnsley on our website:**Everyone must have a Ticketing purchase history between Season 2012/13 and Season 2013/14 when purchasing on this day. (Not currently available online)
MikeyT Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I've never had a problem getting tickets ever. I must be one of the lucky ones.

(Not currently available online) I thought this. To be honest, I've found them to be much improved this season on previous years. I have had them inexplicably drop me two priority boundaries before (the season before last) and the way the Watford tickets were dealt with was a shambles but - this year - they seem to have improved. I think the priority system is the fairest way of doing things. It rewards those who attend the most. Haven't we got a new guy in charge of things? Perhaps he's responsible for the improvement. It does get my goat that they use an 08 number though. Is there really any need for that? I work for a company that probably handles an equivalent call volume and we don't need to.

Yes, new ticketing manager who worked at Aston Villa for a number of years before joining us. He's responsible for the new away priority system. Agreed about the 08 number. I think they're hopeful that the new website will solve a lot of problems and more traffic will go through that than having to call.

allotment-fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I had hoped that the lcfc ticket / office manager had learned from the joke of a ticket system employed for the Birmingham City away clash a few games back, when we saw so many empty seats in the away end on the night. When so many people wanted to support the team and only to be let down our ticket system.
Leicester Lass Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 He was responsible for the man city ticketing shambles. What shambles was that then? Although STHs were allowed up to 6 extra tickets, the game still made it to general sale. On average STHs bought less than 1 extra ticket each.
Leicester Lass Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I had hoped that the lcfc ticket / office manager had learned from the joke of a ticket system employed for the Birmingham City away clash a few games back, when we saw so many empty seats in the away end on the night. When so many people wanted to support the team and only to be let down our ticket system. As mentioned in the FCC thread, LCFC contacted Birmingham very early on about trying to get an increased allocation but they were only willing to give us 400 more tickets which were then sold out. That's down to Birmingham, nothing to do with our ticketing policy. LCFC were not told about the extra allocation that was available on the night.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 It strikes me that the ticket office is getting a lot of stick here for things outside of their control. I've had personal first hand experience of them being a shambles in previous seasons for things within their control - but this year they've been fine. Long may it continue.

The Man City/ L Block thing was a farce
AndWhat? Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 The Man City/ L Block thing was a farce Wasn't really the clubs fault though.
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Never ever had a prob when getting tickets
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 The Man City/ L Block thing was a farce Wasn't really the clubs fault though. The club did everything they could there. They had to offer the seats to Man City and when they became available they offered them back to STHs before offering them to General Sale. That's just a problem with where L Block is and it's always going to be like that - but there's nothing the club can do about it.
rico Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Went down this morning and club shop was closed for stocktaking, this could have been announced at yesterdays match to save people making unecessary journeys
Leicesterpool Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I think another problem is one or two people who work in the ticket office aren't footy fans.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Wasn't really the clubs fault though. it was. They should've allowed a day or two soley for L block STHs choosing where they wanted to relocate to I think another problem is one or two people who work in the ticket office aren't footy fans.
Leicester Lass Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 it was. They should've allowed a day or two soley for L block STHs choosing where they wanted to relocate to Agreed, and this will be the case going forward after it was discussed in the FCC meetings. Although the league cup rules may change next year so that we'd only have to give 10% allocation rather than 15% so it might not impact L1 anyway.
jammie82uk Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Went down this morning and club shop was closed for stocktaking, this could have been announced at yesterdays match to save people making unecessary journeys There was posters on the club shop windows and doors stating it but agreed could have been announced over tannoy
