CosbehFox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Not really. Would completely trust Pearson to bring in an even better goalkeeper if he left. I like Kasper, he's a brilliant shot stopper but his command of the area is appalling at times. I wouldn't be bothered for the reasons you've said but Pearson's goalkeeper choices have been suspect before.

Kasper signing a new contract would cost nothing. A good replacement could well cost us a decent sum. What are you all thinking? He would be a free signing!!!!!!!
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 A good shot stopper, but fails to command his box which is why we often look so vulnerable from corners. I hope he stays to maintain stability, but if he wants to move on I think he's quite replaceable as there are some good prospects for a club in our position.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 A lot of the admiration for Kasper comes from the shocking display of our keeper prior to his arrival (they were utter sh*t ). I just always have the feeling he want's to be somewhere else, so I wouldn't be too bothered if he leaves. He's a good keeper, but far from irreplaceable. I can't see him being good enough to ever play for Man U unless he improves greatly, so if he's not good enough for a tinpot club like Man U, then he's not good enough for the mighty foxes either! Seriously though, I think there are a fair few talented goal keepers around and with a bit of time and scouting (ours is excellent) we could find a younger and better keeper without too much trouble. As usual... top post..
MrSpaM Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Is this our man? Â Andy King can't play in goal as far as I know...

Monsell1976 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Good shot stopper, seems prone to soft goals from distance and doesn't dominate his area, but in goalkeeping terms he's still very young and has a lot to learn. If he left it would be a shame, as he is part of a team that won promotion, but I would like to see a good experienced keeper in to push him and learn from, because sorry Logan can't do either. To answer the op question if he wanted to leave would I be bothered, no.
Buzzell Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I would be gutted if he was to go but also have faith in Pearson to find the right man to replace him. Kasper is a brilliant keeper, even though he makes a few clangers here and there, but makes up for it with his brilliant shot stopping and passion to win. But I can see a bigger club coming in for him within a few years, and could see him jumping ship.
Carl the Llama Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Of course I'd be bothered. Â Not only is he the progeny of one of my childhood idols, but he has also been worlds away our best keeper since Flowers. Â Granted that has a lot to do with the bar being pretty low, but on top of that he's also as motivated as they come. Â I promise you that while we may be able to get similar, perhaps even better keepers now we're in the Premiership, we will not find one anywhere near as passionate for the team to do well as Kasper, just look at his goal against Yeovil(I don't care that it was awarded to Wood) - the man gives the team a huge lift and to me that's more important than having slightly quicker reactions or a better sense of crosses.
