suffolk fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 No I didn't. I was very ill that night, and that is actually the truth. Sorry to hear that? Hope you are well now. Well, he played a blinder for Denmark that night and put himself in the shop window much to our detriment.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Who gets promoted with a team and then jumps ship... But of a Dick if he does in my opinion, at least give it another season!
DangerFox Posted 14 April 2014 Author Posted 14 April 2014 I think tonight it might be worth looking at Readings keeper. Andy Marshall is a good keeper too. Speroni, no thanks. Plus he'll not come. He's been with Palace forever and they are staying up, he'll be loyal. What about picking up a top teams no.2? Anders Liingaard from Man U? Something like that?
iancognito Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Good keeper but we have had better i.e. Keller, Flowers Ony want players who are commited to the cause, if he's heart not in it best to leave. Keller was never better than Schmeichel. I'd be gutted if he left because he's one of the few who genuinely looks like he gives a sh!t some days. B0llocks the defence, gees up the crowd and I've rarely seen a better penalty/shot stopper. He's worth 10 points a season on his own. His dad said on MOTD that he'd be looking to play in the Premier League with Leicester and Kasper himself says he loves it here and likes Pearson's methods so I think we'll get another season out of him. Pulis is supposed to be bringing in a replacement for Speroni in the summer, if that happens I'd be tempted to go for him. Or someone like Butland who'll be wanting more game time.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Why? We'll have plenty of money to spend and I can't see him wanting to play in the Championship (assuming Cardiff go down.) And I can't multi-quote, but I think you stated that he's better than half of the Premier league. What keepers is he better than in the Premier League? I'd say Stockdale and maybe Adrian, Speroni and Mannone, but other than that I'm not sure. There's a lot of good, established Premier League keepers up there. I can see one of the big boys signing Marshall

Butland is a great shout but would Stoke part with him?
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 If he does go then how about al habsi from Wigan, he's always impressed me when I've seen him
Happy Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 If he does go then how about al habsi from Wigan, he's always impressed me when I've seen him Good shout.
DangerFox Posted 14 April 2014 Author Posted 14 April 2014 IF he does leave then somebody with Prem experience is necessary. So Al Habsi fits the bill!
LCFC1996 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 If he goes I'll be content as long he'll be a number 1.Milan may not be a bad shout, Abbiati is leaving, Gabriel isn't good enough yet & Amelia isn't as good as Kasper. They're also not in a position to sign the best out there with it looking like no European football at all.
Happy Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 John Ruddy would be another goalkeeper we should consider if Norwich go down.

We've had this debate a million times but it's very difficult to claim that any current members of the squad are 'better' than the team that established us in the Premiership. Maybe in two years we can start comparing....
red5 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I'm not bothered no, if he stays on a reasonable contract then give him a try, but better keepers are available and should be sought after.
XLM Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Honestly can't see him leaving either way. Rumours always seem to spread when a player is soon to be out of contract irrespective of context. He's been a big part of our club, and Nigel's plans. He's part of a team that he openly voices his enjoyment towards. He's settled in here now, and it makes absolutely no sense for him to leave when his best chance of being an established Premiership goalkeeper is with us. To answer the question of this thread, yes, I would be bothered. He's saved us so many times, and although this season there have been times when he's not been his best, he's still the best keeper in this league. Moreover, it speaks badly of our club if we work this hard just to let our better players leave at the end of it all.
MrSpaM Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 He's great at reflex saves, probably best ive seen in a city shirt. But I'm seriously concerned about our defending from set pieces next season. I'd like us to bring in a seasoned PL keeper just to give Kasper a bit more training and competition in that area.

Competition for places is key.
LCCFox96 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I would be bother if Kasper left and really want him to stay. Premier league status should mean we have him for at least another year. Despite the occasional calamity moment (and let's be fair that's not as often as some people make out) he is the most consistent and committed keeper we've had for a long time. Plus he's a brilliant shot stopper. I agree with popel saying we need some additional backup though. An good young talent or a seasoned pro would be competition for. Kasper and strengthen in that department. But I don't see why risk loosing that consistency in goal by letting Kasper walk because his contract is up.
cjslcfc Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 As much as I would be annoyed and disappointed if he left I can't say it would be as difficult to replace him as it would be to replace players like Drinkwater etc... There are plenty of quality keepers out there and Schmeichel has hardly set the world alight in the Premier League before. As mentioned previously I'd love to see David Marshall or Alex McCarthy here, who have both impressed me massively whenever I have seen them play. However, Kasper deserves his chance and I do think he is a very good 'keeper, just not irreplaceable by any means and it wouldn't be the end of the world if he were to leave at some point. He will definitely sign a new contract and have at least a season with us in the PL. What happens after depends on how he performs at the top level!! His shot-stopping is top class it's just other facets of his game he needs to work on.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 At the end of the day if he wants to stay and play for Leicester City then he will sign a new contract. If he does'nt then let him go, I never see why clubs try and force players to stay, surely you only want players who are 100% committed. This.
Babylon Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I'd have been bothered if we hadn't been promoted as it would have been harder to find a quality replacement, as it is we can have our pick almost now.
chapero82 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I appreciate what he has done for us, but I have always thought that he awful when at corners the goals we conceded at Brighton another top keeper would have saved them, for this reason I don't think he is good enough yet for the man U's etc but please gear in mind I said yet, because he can work on these with us in the prem then be ready for the top teams
One Legged Beaver Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I would be bothered, decent shot stopper who is absolutely incredible at one on ones. May have a few flaws but at 27 he is still yet to peak. He is also one of the most passionate players I've seen put on a Leicester shirt for a good few years.
Guest MattP Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Not really. Would completely trust Pearson to bring in an even better goalkeeper if he left. I like Kasper, he's a brilliant shot stopper but his command of the area is appalling at times.
My Nads Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 A lot of the admiration for Kasper comes from the shocking display of our keeper prior to his arrival (they were utter sh*t ). I just always have the feeling he want's to be somewhere else, so I wouldn't be too bothered if he leaves. He's a good keeper, but far from irreplaceable. I can't see him being good enough to ever play for Man U unless he improves greatly, so if he's not good enough for a tinpot club like Man U, then he's not good enough for the mighty foxes either! Seriously though, I think there are a fair few talented goal keepers around and with a bit of time and scouting (ours is excellent) we could find a younger and better keeper without too much trouble.
