DangerFox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I will say think he's been fantastic for us and I love his attitude in wanting to succeed. And no I don't want him to leave and would be bothered. The thing for me is.....I don't see him being a No.1 at AC Milan or Man Utd. So he'll be sat on the bench. He obviously wants to emulate his dad and become a legend somewhere. Well, for me, the best place is at a club like LCFC. I feel he'll become forgotten about at bigger clubs. Don't become a money hoarder Kasper or lost in the system. That said, if you still want you leave, it's your decision, you've given us a couple of good years, there's not much we can do if your minds made up. I blame the agents as usual! What's your thoughts?
Foxes Blue Blood Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 He has played well for us and I hope he stays, he said he wanted to play in the Premier League, well he can do that now with us but does he want to go to a bigger club, more money only he can make that decision. The only thing I hope for is that he and the other players who are being offered a new contract make their minds up quickly, if they are leaving give NP plenty of time to replace them.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Hope he stays but if he leaves I hope it's to a club where he will actually be playing and not a bench warmer - that would be a bit of a kick in the teeth
Marmite Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 At the end of the day if he wants to stay and play for Leicester City then he will sign a new contract. If he does'nt then let him go, I never see why clubs try and force players to stay, surely you only want players who are 100% committed. It will be interesting to see if he can step up to the mark in the Premiership, he is a great keeper who has won games for us this season but he can be quite clamity at times and in the Premiership you will get punished for that
kingcarr21 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 i would be surprised if he did leave. What better chance of first team football in the prem to showcase his talents as No.1 keeper is there? I reckon he will stay for 1 more year and if he performs then we can sell him on for a decent price. hes a great keeper but if we did lose him there are other keepers out there that we could bring in to replace him. If he left and Cardiff go down then id be straight in for David Marshall.
DangerFox Posted 14 April 2014 Author Posted 14 April 2014 I believe along with NP, back in December, if not earlier, we're given an ultimatum, gain promotion and you get yourself a contract, if not, your out the door and we're mixing things up. I even believe contracts were already in place as an incentive, to be signed at the end of the season, and it's upto the players to sign. Whether they will....we'll see? I don't think there has been any worries internal to the club regarding contracts, it was all a hype built up by the press maybe fuelled by another promotion chasing manager trying to upset the good atmosphere at LCFC. As for Schmeichel, I feel the money will drag him away, maybe a hope of playing European footy too (but being no.2?). Time will tell!
demon_dog Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I suspect he will sign a new deal, however I expect him to only stay for next season, then move on to a bigger club.
KFS Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I'm a fan of keeping the current squad in tact for a multitude if reasons, so yeah I would be bothered if he left.
DangerFox Posted 14 April 2014 Author Posted 14 April 2014 I also agree, I don't want him forced to stay! His heart just won't be in it! As for replacements, there are a couple that have been mentioned in the press, I don't think anybody decent has been to be fair. Possible replacements: I agree with Marshall at Cardiff Readings keeper is top of charts in stats Otherwise I do trust our recruitment system!
MC Prussian Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I suspect he will sign a new deal, however I expect him to only stay for next season, then move on to a bigger club. Same here. I can but assume he'll want to prove himself at the highest level with us for a season or two, then join a household name in the near future. Imagine if he started for Manchester United, just like his dad...
Bayfox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I suspect he will sign a new deal, however I expect him to only stay for next season, then move on to a bigger club. I see it that way as well. 3 year deal. 1 year as leicesters no1 then if he has a decent season or we come back down then he will be off next summer. But we will get a decent return on him.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I won't be too bothered if he leaves. I said near the start of the season, Kasper can be sensational, but he can also drop some clangers. I still think this. He's clearly a very ambitious young man and will probably consider leaving if what he thinks is a 'bigger club' come in for him. There are some very good young keepers we could consider to replace him and, if Cardiff go down, I'd take David Marshall with no problem. Watch out for Wes Fotheringham also, at Swindon I think? Looks a good prospect.
DangerFox Posted 14 April 2014 Author Posted 14 April 2014 I feel his best prospect would be to sign a 2/3 year deal, prove himself, and then move on! Unless LCFC are in the Champions League! He he!
Fox92 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 He wouldn't get in Milan's or United's team. You're talking about two of the biggest clubs in the World who could sign any goalkeeper they wanted. Why would they go for a goalkeeper in the second tier of English football, who at 27 years old has only been a regular for Leicester City, Leeds United and Notts County? It's his name that gets linked.
coolhandfox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Good keeper but we have had better i.e. Keller, Flowers Ony want players who are commited to the cause, if he's heart not in it best to leave.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 He's a young keeper who is better than half the keepers in the premier league There is no doubt that he'll be in high demand but I reckon he'll stay for next season

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 I think he'd be missed if he went, not just his goalkeeping abilities, but his attitude and desire
kingfox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Kasper is the best goalkeeper we have had for some time. He has won us a lot of points, due to the fantastic saves he has made in matches. Love him
NewburyFox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 He's a good keeper and I'd like him to stay but it's by no means disastrous if he leaves. He's always been a fantastic shot stopper but his failure to dominate his box has always been a major problem of his. We're conceding a stupid number of goals from set-pieces and crosses into the box at the moment and that's partly Kasper's fault. Unless it considerably improves it is what I think will stop him becoming a top keeper in the future. I can see it being exploited a lot next season. I love his passion and his desire to win, but there are better out there who will be available for reasonable fees, Marshall at Cardiff for one I feel.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 We'd have no chance of signing Marshall Kasper is the best goalkeeper we have had for some time. He has won us a lot of points, due to the fantastic saves he has made in matches. Love him Ditto
bovril Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 Like a few others on here I don't think he's quite as hot as people make out, but at the same time we wouldn't be able to get anybody better without paying big money. So I hope he stays.
NewburyFox Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 We'd have no chance of signing Marshall Why? We'll have plenty of money to spend and I can't see him wanting to play in the Championship (assuming Cardiff go down.) And I can't multi-quote, but I think you stated that he's better than half of the Premier league. What keepers is he better than in the Premier League? I'd say Stockdale and maybe Adrian, Speroni and Mannone, but other than that I'm not sure. There's a lot of good, established Premier League keepers up there.
Fox92 Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 You obviously did not watch his performance against England at Wembley. He was sensational for Denmark that night. I think he may go good luck to him if he does. No I didn't. I was very ill that night, and that is actually the truth.
