filbertway Posted 17 August 2005 Posted 17 August 2005 Never mind the club going bust, what about us all going bust paying massive prices to watch leicester play sheff wednesday. Foxes trust can you tell me why it costs the same for a juvenile to watch a grade A and B game. £17 to watch sheff wednesday at home for a juvenile is crazy.

jon4001 Posted 17 August 2005 Posted 17 August 2005 Pay attention here's the science part. The last ten home games have averaged an attendance of 23,955. Based on an average ticket price of 22.00, the income from ticket sales per home game can be estimated at about 527,010. To find the maximum reduction the club could offer fans the ticket price necessary to achieve 527,010 needs to be found based on the club receiving the maximum number of possible ticket sales. 527010/32000(max. capacity) = $16/ticket. However $16 is the lowest avg ticket price. A $6 reduction is unlikey to add 8,000 to matchday attendance. Therefore a more likey reduction would be less than the $6 maximum. However as someone mentioned earlier $5 reductions in the past have seen little increase in attendance. Therefore the club would probably lose from any reduction. Since figures and budgets are based on forecasts in the short-medium term on income from matchdays don't expect any reduction any time soon but if they do come don't expect them to be anymore than $2-3 pound. Is it worth all the fuss for a couple of quid?
Phil Posted 17 August 2005 Posted 17 August 2005 Stoke away Tickets were just 5 quid last year! Ipswich Tickets vary from 21 - 32 depending on when you buy your ticket and where you sit.

Katy Posted 17 August 2005 Posted 17 August 2005 I was loitering around the Hull City site a week or so ago and noticed their prices. I know they have just come up and still have a League One pricing structure but the most expensive seat for they have is £23 AND they have student discounts which knocks a whopping £9 off the price!!! Lisa and I were berating the fact the other week that we no longer have the student discount that was in place at Filbert Street, I know there is the young persons discount but theres more and more students these days are over the age of 22, surely it wouldnt hurt to reintroduce it. People like Cat Burger (and other students) have had to stop going because they can no longer afford it and im not far behind. What would it take for a rethink on ticket prices? an empty stadium?

I wouldn't mind them totally scrapping the 'young adult' category, which enables people who leave school at 16/18 with a job and decent money to get cheap tickets, in favour of a 'student ticket' category which would be much fairer. If you are going to discriminate between people in different circumstances (e.g children because they have no income, senior citizens because they have very little income etc) at least do the same for students, who also have very little income.

I do wonder why, when we moved from Filbs did they do away with the student discount? I know they used to do a good discount for people on various benefits (e.g unemployment benefit) as well, what happened to that? Football is unfortunately not a working class sport anymore.

I'm only interested in student discounts for purely selfish reasons, to be honest.

Ric Flair Posted 18 August 2005 Posted 18 August 2005 I think it's excellent that Leicester don't have reductions for students. Anybody who is over the age of 21/22 and is still a student means that chances are they are on course to be qualified to get a shit hot job and money will never be an issue for them in the future. Use some of that student loan you lot get, i'm sure it will be a piss in the ocean once you've got yourself that job you've been working so hard for. I personally would charge students £50 a match, that will soon stop them pissing about.

Ric Flair Posted 18 August 2005 Posted 18 August 2005 I was joking. I like students really, I was just mucking about. Some of the buggers do moan alot about not getting discount and stuff. Their choice.

Guest Posted 19 August 2005 Posted 19 August 2005 Just a thought..... The club decide to lower ticket prices to increase crowds at the WS. Tickets sell well, and we start to average 25K. We then go on a run, winning 8 on the bounce. Fans who don't get to many games suddenly get the urge to go to games again, an inevitable part of the success of the club. However, games are now selling out. Question: Do these fans have the right then to moan about not being able to get match tickets, a scenario which has happened in the past? Please bear in mind that these fans will no doubt be the some of the same fans complaining about high ticket prices.
lush Posted 19 August 2005 Posted 19 August 2005 I noticed f****t are charging s****horpe fans £21 tomorrow, shocking. Im of the opinion that if you dont like the price then you wont go, so if you do go, DONT MOAN about it.

COVSCUM for the OPENER of the new RIOCH staduim can only get 23,000 now that worrying as they have spent £60M. I have never moaned about the price of tickets, maybe adding value to the tickets could be by saying 20% off a new home top with this ticket (£8), or a free drink etc of lower grade games.... this is called bolt-ons (not the team) and everyone wins If we get Chelsea/Manure in the CUP then people will come, the truth is that only the season ticket holders year in year out should get any futher benefits. Where were all the voices at the open meeting...eh lisa........ about 40 of us!
Bluefoxtim Posted 19 August 2005 Posted 19 August 2005 I think Sheffield Wednesday are the team whose prices we should concentrate on, they are getting the most attendances this season and even last season in league 1 they were getting more than a lot of championship teams. http://www.swfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Prices/0,,10304,00.html Here is the link to their ticket prices. Compared to Leicester their prices seem much fairer and logical. Kids and STUDENTS!!!!!! (who I think are the most important) Only pay £13 at most at city it is DOUBLE, Students have no money and we all know that so if the club wants them to come in they cannot charge them £25. And students being students like to bet and buy a beer so that means over £30! And the club wonders why attendances are so poor. FFS CITY OPEN YOUR EYES AND THINK ABOUT IT! The prices are ludricous and unless we are top 6 the attendances will plummet even further. 21,000 on the first home saturday game against a big team is appaling. The club cannot wait THEY HAVE TO CHANGE IT NOW. I have a season ticket and it means me paying more over the course of the season than just buying match tickets then so be it. Games are much more enjoyable when you cant see an empty seat, and you have the whole ground rocking! Just think, Mexican waves arent going to be possible Ahem.
