sphericalfox Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 Having two children to force to listen to my music, and likely to influence them to either hate or love any particular genres of music, I wondered if there was a particular track that you'd use specifically to introduce someone to a genre of music in the hope of them enduring for the future? I'm going to try a little experiment based on what other people offer, and then make the kids listen from each and let them make their own minds. For Drum and Bass I'll chose this.
Webbo Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Kids aren't supposed to share their parents musical taste and quite right too.
potter3 Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 I'd much rather share my Dad's taste than listen to half the stuff my contemporaries listen to.
sphericalfox Posted 24 April 2014 Author Posted 24 April 2014 Kids aren't supposed to share their parents musical taste and quite right too. Don't be so hard on yourself Webbo. I'm sure Phil Collins will come back into style...one day.
bovril Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Kinky Afro. T'was the song that someone used to introduce me to the world of Alternative British Rock. Changed me life....
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 This is difficult, because what you need is a slightly naff, watered down, almost mainstream version of any particular genre, which was how I got into certain types of music. They're never the pinnacles of their genre - you come to appreciate them much later.
