Arsenal would offer him 50k to sit on the bench so we need to be competitive. Not that I think we will sign anyone on 50k a week just saying we would pay it if necessary, Kasper will be top earner next season I reckon. No way is Kasper on 20k a week

We are perfectly capable of bringing in quality players without spending extortionate amounts of money. As for Schmeichel, isn't he more bothered about playing matches? Would he want to go to a bigger club and sit on the bench? I also doubt Arsenal would waste 50k a week on a sub-keeper. They are usually quite careful with money. In fact, I doubt Szczesny is even on that much. EDIT: I've just tried to find out... As far as I'm aware, Szczesny is on 50k a week, but so is Fabianski. Still, my first point remains valid. Kasper needs games more than money. His father would agree...

You wouldn't ask for a pay rise. Really? I'm not arguing against your that part of what you've said, I just don't think we'll ever put ourselves in that sort of position. Financial control has been something we've excelled at recently.

To be fair he did leave Man City to join a League Two side, he must have been on some money at Notts County. Why else would you drop three leagues if you arent rubbish? If he had stuck around at Man City I think he may have replaced Hart as number one, or certainly got snapped up by a lower half Premier League side. Reeks of impatience and greed.
