Bugg Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 As someone who lives in the city, Derby honestly don't care about us and if I'm honest I don't care about them either.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I don't even know whether we have a biggest rival, there's a few teams I hate though. Forest, cov, Cardiff, millwall, Watford
FuriousFox46 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Living in Nottingham for most of my life I can confirm there is a very strong hatred from those lot towards us. As if it needed confirming. The trouble is some people actually listen to that stuff about only hating Derby sometimes. The rivalry between me and my "mates" is so fierce that I hate that club as much as is possible for a fan and I have never felt like I'm missing out on a rivalry like some people do on here. The funniest thing for me is the Forest Derby rivalry isn't actually very famous at all outside of this region and that's what leads to the whole "your all on your own" thing. It annoys the hell out of them when sky in recent years always pick Leicester vs derby/forest over their own little love in. The "it's forest and derby, you're all on your own" chant is as embarrassing as football chants get and is so desperate to create a rivalry (ironically they accuse us of that). I mean, can you really imagine proper rivals like Celtic and Rangers or United and Liverpool singing a song like that? The Leicester vs Forest game is a very fierce rivalry and always has been. From both sides. We aren't missing out on anything I was always thought Leicester- Forest and Forest-Derby were fierce matches Leicester-Derby ebbs and flows

It's mutual, I absolutely hate them, disgusting disgusting club.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 You should just have Cov as your main rivals and leave Forest and Derby to it.

lcfc1994 Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Are there any other teams in England that have no rivals at all? Reading? Hull?
The Doctor Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 You should just have Cov as your main rivals and leave Forest and Derby to it. Why when coventry are an irrelevant club and Leicester - Forest is the big derby in the east midlands (Derby-Forest is a pathetic little circlejerk that would have been completely irrelevant if Brian Clough hadn't managed both).
fuchsntf Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 No, I'm an orphan. So can you tell me??? Can anyone? Like many town/city rivalries, it came more to the fore has city/town sporting teams and followers fans travelled outside their counties.Origins come from tittle tattle over neighbours people in other companies or trades, simply.just taking a dislike of people from other areas. It was easier to dislike people from neighbouring towns or cities, than people further away, because many people Just didnt roam far from their living areas, so all strangers were considered suspicious. Take just the local pubs, if you drank Shipstones you wouldnt dream of going into a Banks or Everards pub. Industrial rivalry like the hosiery and clothing firms, plus the train or carriage building businesses.Engineering companies, etc. Leicester workers thought the nottingham people were upstarts, and snobs, or visa versa. Contracts being won by one city/town over the other, who believed their produce were better. If you took on people living in or coming from the next neighbouring town, they were welcomed, it made people believe their own town was somehow better. Then according to personal experiences, you would compare your city with the other.like how Scraptoft, oadby, or New Parks Lads/lassies will find the wrongs in each other. SO Nottingham being our Nearest neighbour, competing for areal supremacy, in all walks of life, despising everything about each other. The comical thing is people found boyfriends and girlfriends across these divides. For the men, after the pubs and brewery came sport that simply took up this anomosity. It wasnt 'vive le difference' more than automatically dislike distrust anything /anybody you dont know. Then came 1909 and that 12-0.Then later they derogatotily made fun of our known name of woolybacks . To compound it even further any colliery/ industrial/humanity needs mishaps it was the neighbours who turned up willing and ready to help. Then the following week start the banter over the upstarts again, especially if the fish n chip shops were full of these weirdos at your beloved skeggy, Gt.Yarmouth, or sharing the same ferry to Isle of White IN YOUR HOLIDAY TIME. Even worse buying up the last pork pies in Melton, and getting in the last orders first. Stupid really...but there you are.Today we marry people from countries we fought, but dislike our next neighbour, johnny foreigner is more sympathetic today. There you are then, to sum it up rivalry is simply another term for neighbourly love. Sumjhe, Capice, verstehen sie, mon ami.
stevie lynex on the wing Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 mine are the fans of leicester singing wankers on saturday ..... no passion and they never sang during the match .because they only know the words to that song .
