Fox in the North Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 England beat Holland on penalties 4-1 to win the championship!
Richard Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Winners of 2010: Where are they now http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27470556
Matt Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Take nothing away from them but Scotland made the Semi's beating Germany along the way. Like I say though, take nothing away from them, they can only play what's infront of them and it's an achievement, senior team take note!
LCFC Rennie Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 England winning on penalties! F*** me. Whats next, us beating Germany?
BlueSi13 Posted 21 May 2014 Posted 21 May 2014 Second win in four years, huge achievement for us. Clearly we are doing SOMETHING right at youth level, lets hope they can kick on into the seniors one day.
Dan Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Very encouraging even if it is only U17's. That said the article of 'where are they now' has put a bit of a downer on it. Maybe Martinez' theory of us being shit from 18-21 has something to it...
Captain... Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 It depends on if you believe the theory that we train our kids to win, prioritising size, strength and fitness at the expense of skills and abilitiy. I don't know as I didn't watch any of it, but if we won by having a big man up front and lumped crosses into him from all angles, then great, we won, but it doesn't really bode well for the future.
Haydos Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Keeping an eye on Patrick Roberts from Fulham. Looks very promising.
RowlattsFox Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Keeping an eye on Patrick Roberts from Fulham. Looks very promising. Fulham have some decent young prospects, did well in the youth cup and gave a couple of them a chance in the last few games. Be interesting to see whether they give youth a go next season.
