ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 what is a "top squad"? because gerrard played nearly every game for a team who should've won the premier league this season so i dunno what "top squad" he wouldn't get into.

Agreed. France are trolling, 5-0 up with Newcastle players (plural) in their team.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 even teams like brazil play people like luis gustavo and paulinho in their first team let alone overall 23, gerrard would be in every 23 in the world cup no questions asked.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Take Suarez out of that side and Liverpool don't even make the top 4. "Statistics show that since Suarez joined the club in January 2011, Liverpool's win ratio drops from 61% when Suarez is on the sidelines to 39% when he is playing, and that Sturridge has a better strike-rate when he plays without the former Ajax forward." From the BBC website when he was coming back from his ban and they were the top of the league without him.

Manwell Pablo Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 He didn't though, I think that's a massive con that a lot of people have lapped up. We didn't press, we didn't play a particularly high line, neither of our centre mids had much licence to get forward. We were very rigid. Just because Sterling played it doesn't mean we played attacking football with exciting young players. We looked to get forward with pace when we had the ball there's no denying that. His Tactics weren't overly negative. I agree without the ball we only really pressed when the opposition were in certain area's, that's not always a bad tactic though, works if your center halves are up to task.
Aus Fox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Yes it's one of the worst. I don't think we have ever had a more overrated bunch. An England side containing Glen Johnson, Leighton Baines, Jordan Henderson and Phil Jagielka. None of them made a squad in the 90's. Even our supposed best playerslike Gerrard and Rooney wouldn't get in the top squads these days. Leighton Bains or Tony Dirigo Glen Johnson or Keith Curle Jordan Henderson or Carlton Palmer Phil Jageilka or Gary Steven
