People on the Internet seem to think it just happens at random?!? I think the phone ringing part is just random myself. Happens when it wants to. I think once you have the 6 pieces together in the pic frame, its just a waiting game.

Determined to prove I can hack the full game, got as far as the neverending corridor and eventually quit, it was getting too intense.... later that night I was awoken by a bang in the house, I put my son back in his bed and then lay awake thinking of everything I had seen in p.t.
