Transfer problems ?

Firstly , well done to the lads for putting in a great performance yesterday against potential champions this season , I write this out of pure frustration , as well as our supporters, I write it for our great squad who need help in achieving their goal this season, day after day i read the same old story with no ending , cambiasso , other names etc, and I sit here thinking everyone else is signing players , why cant we ? Why are we finding it so difficult, going back to the back end of last season I read a column by Warnock stating how good it is for NP going up as champions having a huge advantage over other clubs who have to wait until their season is complete to find out their final position, ie promotion or not , Nigel publicly stated they knew their targets, and said he would do his business early, now none of us know whose to blame here , but what is going on ? The cambiaso deal I can sort of understand too many representatives etc but all clubs are in the same boat right and deals are getting done and dusted each day , are we losing out because of our restrictions on wages, I cant think for a moment this is down to the owners I personnally think if he asked for a budget of 30 mill tomorrow morning and a wage budget to suit it would be granted staright away, were going into the last week of the window now and NP doesn't like dealings in the last week as stated on RL last night , well Nigel were thin on the ground in midfield , due to injuries, short at the back , and at key times like you say we need to take our chances when they arrive, a phone call to Watford and the aquisition of Troy Deeney may prove vital, whether this is Nigel or the chief exec we need to change our stance, we need to compete for transfers, we have 8 days left , the clock is ticking !

You say we are missing out on targets but lets look at who we have apparently missed out on.

Gareth Barry - was never gonna come to us, was always going to Everton and his wage demands were far too high!

Fraizer Campbell - again wage demands too high, would have been a decent squad player but no way would Nige have made him our highest earner. Apparently he wanted £40-45k a week, which I'm sure would have made him our highest earner.

Slimani - seems like too many issues with his club, so not much we could do here without paying over the odds.

Deeney - Ulloa was pricey at £8m, absolutely no way would we pay £12m for Deeney.

Cambiasso - ongoing and may sign this week. This deal has clearly dragged on because of his agent/representatives.

Rod Fanni - clearly not deemed good enough by Nige.

These are the players that we have apparently made bids for/looked at. So looking at the reasons why we haven't signed them, it doesn't actually look like there is a problem at the club, more a problem with the transfer market.

Yes its annoying, yes its frustrating but there is no evidence to show that any of the deals that have fallen through are down to our club or people within our club.

We are not the only team that has struggled in the transfer market, Man U, Burnley, Palace amongst others have struggled this summer to bring in players. I would rather we took our time to get the right people in rather than get the wrong players, pay too much for players or have players on wages higher than there ability suggests they should be on!

On the money this is.

Nigel has said a few times that we have struggled to sign players this transfer window. The reasons for that we don't know. Do players not want to come here? Want too much money in wages? Clubs wants too much money for our targets? I would say that it has been all of those factors. Selcuk Inan is one in particular who we wanted but he signed a new contract with Galtasaray for more money than we were prepared to offer.

There's two simple factors:-

1. We are not going to pay wages over the odds just to bring someone in.

2. We've not got any rep to make up for the first point for some of our transfer targets.
