UK pay-as-u-go mobile options

After some ideas for a mobile pay as u go, I'm over for a month (leaving in a few weeks) and what to get the best for my buck whilst over there.

I'll be using a fair bit of data (spotify, google maps GPS, genealogy internet use, cover etc) and would really like something that supports tethering.

I probably wouldn't make too many calls but text to family in UK would get used a bit.

So UK foxes, what's my best option?

There's GiffGaff, you need to order a sim online and you can either pay as you go or buy a monthly 'goodybag'. The £12 goody bag has unlimited data with plenty of calls and texts too. You need either an unlocked phone or one locked to O2. I don't think it does support tethering though.

It does I believe. Very good value. Think I pay £10 or £12 for 1gb data, unlimited texts and 300 mins. Something like that anyway, I don't go over it. Think you can pay £15 for unlimited data.

I'm sure I read something recently about them hiking their prices though.

Can highly recommend Giffgaff. I wouldn't bother with three again after the two years I had with them, signal and customer service is dire at best.
