Vossen Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Etches...up the fire escape & in through the skylight...saved a fortune on door fees
srbfox Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Never stepped in Onyx but did before it changed to Onyx, can't remember the name though. Used to see Levi Porter in some bar on granny street. And once remember doing shots with Kisnorbo in fat cats and singing "he used to be s@£&e but now he's alright" after a one all draw with cov. Last Plant was always the starter and USA chicken the end..... no matter what!
Guest MattP Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Etches...up the fire escape & in through the skylight...saved a fortune on door fees Remember once taking a wrong turning in Revolution trying to go toilet and ending up in the stock room, just surrounded by booze. Picked up two boxes of Smirnoff Ice and carried them back out to the bar and dished them out to everyone in the place, no one said a word as well, give people free stuff and they never question it.
JIMMYWILLIS Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Cafe Bruxelles had a short spell as a "rave" club called the dome. Some heady nights in there. For me I started off in sector 5 as the only place a young indie kid could get in. Progressed to fan club and bear cage as I was into indie and dance. Later went outside leicester to venus notts, shelleys stoke etc. Helsinki was the only bar to be in back in the day. Before mobile phones it was somewhere you always knew someone would be. Head used to put on some good club nights at fan club, streetlife and possibly starlight towards the end

Went to a Xmas do at the Athena place (old odeon) a few years back and the balcony was closed off. I walked in to find a fully stocked bar available. Kept popping back up all night for refills
RonnieTodger Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 My mates new bar opens tonight. Next door to cafè Bruxelles, not going to be the biggest of places but it's something different in Leicester. Apres Lounge looks like a great idea. Alex has done brilliantly with Homme & Co, so I can see this doing well too.
Filbert Walker Posted 12 December 2014 Author Posted 12 December 2014 What was the night club on Lee Circle...? I remember going in the early 80's.... near the BT exchange if i remember correctly....
BoyJones Posted 12 December 2014 Posted 12 December 2014 Fusion My best mate (at the time) met his missus there in the late 70's. Still married now.
