Amin Posted 4 March 2015 Posted 4 March 2015 If KM were to score any points while taking over from Fernando, would his points count for Fernando or not? No, Kevin would keep his points and will be counted in the end of year championship table.
isaidno Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Manor will race in Australia. Don't see the point of them spending £60m to drive round at the back every week on their own.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Imagine paying that much just to be filler.
iamafox Posted 11 March 2015 Author Posted 11 March 2015 Van der Garde might race for Sauber this weekend as he won his court case for being guaranteed a race seat this season. The problem is he has a lack of sponsorship compared to the current race drivers and he is a mediocre driver in my opinion. Sauber are going to be in a worse situation financially if this happens.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 If they drop Nasr they're basically done for.

Amin Posted 12 March 2015 Posted 12 March 2015 What a mess Sauber are in. It's interesting to hear Ex-Sauber driver, Nico Hulkenberg's opinion on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKiDSOBPFcM Anyway, only a couple of hours until Practice 1. I'm fully expecting another Mercedes walkover but I can't help but get excited for the new season. Here's hoping that Ferrari live up to their testing hype.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Honestly wasnt that ****ed but now we're getting closing I'm beginning to feel it. Even if this season is just kinda filler for next season when hopefully people can step up and end this Mercedes domination, I can be optimistic for the early stages. Really hope Williams can just grab one win, that's all I ask for the season.
wurmer Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 Ferrari look quick in FP1 & 2 - will be interesting to see if thats just posturing or if they are that competitive in Qualifying tomorrow. Sauber are a joke - I thought that mantle would be held by Manor, but nope.
isaidno Posted 13 March 2015 Posted 13 March 2015 I'm usually buzzing for the start of a F1 season but can't get excited this year
Amin Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 After threats of their assetts being seized and Monisha Kaltenboorn being thrown in prison, the Sauber-GvdG issue seems to have been solved. Ferrari had very good long run pace in P2. Kimi set something like 16 consecutive laps on the soft tires and actually got quicker towards the end of his stint. I just hope their fuel load was realistic. Vettel was also fast but his on boards didn't look perfect, a lot of hacking at the wheel. We still haven't seen what Williams and Red Bull are capable of, so I think the battle for the last podium position is looking quite interesting. McLaren are still in trouble. If Kevin's correct about McLaren only doing low fuel runs in testing, not only are they unreliable but they are also very slow. We still haven't seen Manor yet. I hope they get some running in P3.
Amin Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 P3 is over and Red Bull don't look in too good shape. Ricciardo has lost 1 of his 4 engines for the year and Kvyat seemed to have a stuck throttle and only got 6 laps. On a positive note, Lotus look good.
Amin Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Looks like Manor aren't going to make qualifying. We'll have to wait until at least Malaysia to see them run.
Amin Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 That's ridiculous from Hamilton, I hope Rosberg had a problem. Raikkonen and Bottas both messed up their laps, should have been 3rd and 4th respectively. Ferrari screwed Vettel on tyre strategy in Q3.
wurmer Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Prediction - we'll never see Alonso driving that dog of a McLaren.....
Amin Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Prediction - we'll never see Alonso driving that dog of a McLaren..... Today isn't exactly going to motivate him to return. If I was him I would concentrate on myself for the next few months, there's no point risking your life in a backmarker.
wurmer Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 I'm not into conspiracy theories usually, but the whole Alonso accident/concussion/not concussion/memory loss/not memory loss/concussion 'issue' just doesn't feel right. Expect an announcement that he'll sit out the rest of the season on 'medical advice'.....
Amin Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Bottas may miss the race because he injured his back during Q2.
isaidno Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 For McLaren to be 5 seconds off the pace is embarrassing
iamafox Posted 14 March 2015 Author Posted 14 March 2015 For McLaren to be 5 seconds off the pace is embarrassing Would've been even more embarrassing if they qualified behind Manor.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 For McLaren to be 5 seconds off the pace is embarrassing For a team with their money and talent this is one big embarrassment... indeed they have taken on a whole new engine, but they paid a lot for it and it should have been much better, teams last season at the start were far better

A very bad start indeed.

Mclaren know the score and wont be the slightest bit embarrassed and are probably working 2 or 3 years down the line. Mercedes were working on that engine 2 and a half years before last season. The only piss of for us fans is we'll probably have to wait for another major rule change before the racing is close again. IMO this engine change has really screwed up F1 and will turn more fans away from the sport than attract new ones, but sky will keep pumping it and telling us how competitive the racing is.
