Guest MattP Posted 19 February 2015 Posted 19 February 2015 I think NFP wants to play 3 at the back. He's happy to play Morgan instead of Was so my idea is no dafter than the managers. Of course it is. When Morgan and Moore were partners Wes looked the competent one of the two. Liam was costing us a goal a game through a mistake when he was playing. He's now fifth choice.
Vicki Vixen Posted 19 February 2015 Posted 19 February 2015 Liam lost his place because he was regularly making mistakes, more so than Wes was at the tim, he looked far from quality. He then came back in for a couple of games and did the same again. I don't think swapping one mistake riddled defender for another would help us. I don't know why people have this idea that Liam was regularly making mistakes. I cannot remember a single error that cost us in the games he started this season prior to being dropped after Swansea away. After that game we had won 2, drawn 3 and lost 4, which is a return most of us would have taken given our early fixtures this season. His only mistakes were in games where he was brought back in for a single game here and there after warming the bench for weeks. What exactly has he done for people to decide he is not good enough?

Off the top of my head. Lost RVP for goal v Man U (although no shame in that) Lost striker and was positioned terribly for Burnley goal that made it 1-1, was beaten very easily along with another defender by Obertan at the 1-0 loss at Newcastle then dropping back onto the line at Swansea instead of actually marking Bony to leave him to blast it into an empty net past him.
ScouseFox Posted 19 February 2015 Posted 19 February 2015 villa away (clark's goal) was great defending too. arsenal at home was headless chicken stuff. swansea away was diabolical. his day will come but his day is not when we need experienced defenders who will try to sure up our back line with solid defending and composure on the ball in a relegation fight.

We're relegated or as good as so Moore will learn a lot more playing alongside Huth & Upson than he'll ever learn fro Morgan. It'll help prepare him for next season.
RowlattsFox Posted 20 February 2015 Posted 20 February 2015 Unless I'm not remembering correctly but I thought Moore was excellent the first few games and was getting rave reviews from other fans but then got worse and was deservedly dropped. Then unfortunately he has been rubbish when he has come in since then. He needs game time so loan move has to happen.

dayday Posted 20 February 2015 Posted 20 February 2015 Didn't help that De Laet was getting exposed, people need to look at the bigger picture.. Liam was trying to be c/b,r/b at the same time, poor lad had no chance yet got shit loads of the blame. Very rarely do you see centre backs being the finished article at his age,yet some of the drivel on here he is better of elsewhere!
Banks Posted 20 February 2015 Posted 20 February 2015 Just play Moore at right back, he's got to be better than Simpson and RDL.
Guest MattP Posted 20 February 2015 Posted 20 February 2015 Moore wasn't great at right back last season was he? Best position definitely CB for me.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 21 February 2015 Posted 21 February 2015 Do the lad some good to go out on loan to a team that will win some games instead of losing week in and week out. Get some form and confidence. Could come back with a little more experience and hopefully committing less mistakes. Will do the lad a load of good and possibly lessen our wage outlay. Maybe get to pay for a real defender next season wherever we end up

We have 5 centre backs. Upson and Huth I believe are now going to be first choice. Wes is Captain and Was has arguably been our best defender all season. He wont get a look in for the rest of the season so the bigger picture for him isnt getting Premier league gametime, its just getting gametime. Loaning is best for him.

My point was he was getting a lot of the blame when in reality he had an impossible task trying to cover two positions. Yes I accept that he is out of the picture, yet as Ive already said he would be fantastic player in 3 c/b formation, bloody shame our manager can not see this, but then again nothing surprises me with Pearson anymore.
