Thracian Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Don't know how everyone else voted but I reckon the Levein out poll is a bit of an insult to the bloke. Happily close on 85 per cent of the fans on this forum have demonstrated that, even though we're struggling a bit on the pitch they know enough about football to say the guy should be left free to build his team. MON had a similar sort of shaky start if I recall correctly and my vote was there among the 85 per cent. Indeed I'd go further. Having secured a potential £3m for Connolly and done all the other things I and others have mentioned elsewhere, I believe it is far more likely that Levein will eventually be more likely to get the Freedom of the City than the sack. I get as frustrated as Ric Flair and as frustrated as anyone on here but at that price, Levein has doubled the value of this club in the last few weeks, possibly even trebled the value. The club is getting some vigour back and we need to reflect that now down at the ground. The club should play its part and announce new initiatives on ticket sales designed to fill the ground again. There's got to be a groundswell of pride in our club again. This is not the time for faint-heartedness. This is the time for starting to impose the name of Leicester City onto the football world once again. Any decent centre-forward now, added to the signing of Hume and the impending appearance of Hughes, will be enough to put lotsof bums back on seats. If only the club make the tickets cheaper. Go for it City. Let's put the Blue Army right back in the field.

Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Well said Thracian!!! Connolly is the first person we've got a reasonable fee for for nearly 4 years!!!!!!!!! This club has been worth **** all for ages, but moving players on for huge profits is what it's all about at our level and although Connolly leaving has left me upset £3 million is priceless to a club like ours. Onwards and upwards. Hume might well turn in to a legend at this club, he might not. But he comes with a great reputation and we'll be well over £2 million better off potentially. This day has gone from awful to pretty sound. What a rollercoaster, although I can't remember experiencing one that started off as bad as this one. Probably the equivalent of being forced to stick your head up an elephant's arse then pulling it out to find two diamond earings stuck in your ear worth ten times your yearly salary.
Lester LXXIV Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 I couldn't have summed it up better myself Ric, bless ya!!
Darth Fox Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Maybe I should've titled my Levein out Poll to something more nuetral like "Levein Opinions" Then again would that have got a reaction..probably not. My fingers are crossed for future. I reckon Hamill is due a runout soon, will take a look at him myself at reserve game at Hinckley next week.

This might sound silly but i believe Leicester City are in a very good place at this moment. This is our chance to shape the future of our great club. We have a good, young manager who is signing decent, young players on long contracts that can, maybe not now but in a few years, get us back up to where we all want to be. We all need to go crazy at our next home game against Sheffield Wednesday and show the club that we are all still here and all supporting the team more than ever! COME ON LEICESTER!!!!!
Babylon Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 I'm nearly in tears. It was good but if you were nearly in tears I think you have some issues!
BenFilbert Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 It was good but if you were nearly in tears I think you have some issues! I am a passionate Leicester City fan. I spend lots of money and time on the club. I'm sad to see that you don't care as much as other fans.

I care... but not enough to cry at an article. I cry when family members die or are seriously ill not because of written words on football. Fair play if you love the club that much though.
Babylon Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Issues or tissues? Both haha. You should become a writer, you obviously have a way with the written word. Maybe a nice soppy book, you'd have millions in tears.
Muz Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Levein is building an empire , I am more than happy with him. He has all the foundations now , a team with an average age of 24 with pacey strikers. A good midfield partnership with Williams and Joey. A winger that scores goals ala Hammil and Stevie Hughes an up and coming talent that will set the place alight this year. The people that want him out are tw@ts who have not got a clue.

Cal Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 When Wesolowskis back, who knows he could be boy wonder.. If not wait for Chambers I hope they both make a strong impact when the time comes.
cisono Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 Levein is building an empire , I am more than happy with him. He certainly is. The only thing that I notice now is that it is obviously going to take longer than I originally thought!
Muz Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 He certainly is. The only thing that I notice now is that it is obviously going to take longer than I originally thought! I believe when Craig took the job he said that he would need 3 years to do what he wanted to do.
Thracian Posted 1 September 2005 Author Posted 1 September 2005 I believe when Craig took the job he said that he would need 3 years to do what he wanted to do. You can understand that. The rubble he had to clear was like the footballing equivalent of 9/11.
SystonFox Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 9/11 Thrac* Give Levein the key to the town he is god.
