Daggers Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 The writing was on the wall pre-season for them...a miserable set of results: Tuesday, 01 August 2006 Friendly Match York 2-0 Leeds Monday, 31 July 2006 Friendly Match Grimsby 1-1 Leeds Saturday, 29 July 2006 Friendly Match Nottm Forest 2-3 Leeds Tuesday, 25 July 2006 Friendly Match S****horpe 2-1 Leeds Saturday, 22 July 2006 Friendly Match Hartlepool 2-1 Leeds
Daggers Posted 17 October 2006 Author Posted 17 October 2006 Did someone scary just enter the press conference
Nationwider Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Did someone scary just enter the press conference Ken Bates?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Focking hell, imagine only beating Forest 3-2! That is the worst result of the lot! Leeds are in the shyte.
Daggers Posted 17 October 2006 Author Posted 17 October 2006 To paraphrase The Kevin, "I'd love it, just love it, if they got relegated!" ...almost as much as I love the way this forum replaces the word **** with *'s when you type the word S****horpe
Thracian Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 When you see results like those makes you wonder how our best team would have done.
Ultra Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Just seen Alan Curbishley on TV. He confirmed he's looking for a club. Surely he couldn't end up THERE, could he?
lookwhaticando Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 Just seen Alan Curbishley on TV. He confirmed he's looking for a club. Surely he couldn't end up THERE, could he? Be madness to take it - like the Newcastle job, you just can't win. The fans expect instant success, and I'm not convinced Curbs could deliver as quickly as the fans up there would like. It won't take much for the fans to get on his back, either. Blackwell got Leeds into the play-off finals, the fans hated him even then. While I'm here, I'd like to point out the attendance for tonight's match was only 16,477!
Wycombe Fox Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 ...almost as much as I love the way this forum replaces the word **** with *'s when you type the word S****horpe I feel sorry for S****horpe fans because they'll never see their team's full name spelt out in a forum! Arsenal gets through OK though. So it's OK to be an arse but not a **** (I really hate the 'c' word)

Finnegan Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 Oops! (Aye, aye, not against us and probably not a penalty. But. Still.)
Joe. Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 Just think, a few years ago they were playin in the champs league! Now they're losing to us!
Daggers Posted 18 October 2006 Author Posted 18 October 2006 Just think, a few years ago they were playin in the champs league! Now they're losing to us! Doing a trek around their collected forums last night was a real blast...I strongly recommend it to anyone fancying a giggle at someone else's expense. Stupid bunch of miserable Yorkshire numpties all believing they have a God given right to be in the top 5 of the Premiership Someone ought to point it out to them that they have never really been a big team. FFS, Forest are a bigger team than Leeds!

I mentioned to my driving instructor this evening that we'd had a good win at Leeds last night and he said he was glad Leeds were struggling because their side in the 70s was the most boring he's ever seen. This bloke talks a lot of bollocks when it comes to football (supports Liverpool and was on about when Sheffield United beat them at Anfield in the Premiership, Niall Quinn (??) scored the goal and he was getting loads of text messages from Sheff Utd mates taking the piss - yeah right, what would that have been, 1992?)

Daggers Posted 18 October 2006 Author Posted 18 October 2006 Whether it grates or not they had an outstanding team under Don Revie. One of the greatest club sides England has ever had. For a very short while they had a moderately successful team - but their collection of honours is way too small for them to think that they were any good. All the stories of Revie shouting bribes at the opposition from the sidelines just for the oppo to throw the game, the physical nature of their play, they simply weren't that good. I mention Forest because at least Cloughie won them a European Cup...did Revie achieve that with Leeds? Nah. What did they win during that era? This: League Champions 1968-69, 1973-74 FA Cup Winners 1972 League Cup Winners 1968 Fairs Cup Winners 1968, 1971 I'm not saying I wouldn't have a bit of that now, if offered, but it is hardly "Champions Of Europe" is it? Who's won more silverware over the last ten years, us or them? For too long they have laid claim to this 'sleeping giant' nonsense - they never were, and they never will be.
Janx Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Cannot put into words my joy at Leeds plight...set of arrogant wanqas, who seem to beleive that they are Champions of Europe, without even passing through a semi final....
Leicester Lass Posted 21 October 2006 Posted 21 October 2006 Another great result for Dirty Leeds again today, love it
lcfc_jme Posted 21 October 2006 Posted 21 October 2006 The Leeds result got quite a cheer from the Kop when it was announced at the end of todays game . Great stuff
Joe. Posted 21 October 2006 Posted 21 October 2006 Absolutely brilliant. There will be alot of piss taking when I meet the Leeds fans that I know...
