Ollies Results so far?

After seeing so much shite posted at how Ollie is "doing a kelly"

and "bring back Martin Allen :giggle:

I decided to look at the results that Ollie has since being here..(Again, should I NEED to point out to the small minded pricks on here that this team so far includes no Ollie signings and he has inherited this crap)

Bristol 2-0 Win. I can guarantee that I'm not on my own thinking that this was going to be a tricky game, to go to a side in the top 6 and win 2-0 is a superb result, doesn't matter who the side are.

Cardiff 0-0 Draw. For anyone at the game they will tell you that although it finished 0-0 it certainly wasn't a bore draw. We played with a Tempo we haven't seen for years, created Cardiff a lot of problems and this game was a massive improvement from the shite in the first part of the season.

Southampton 1-2 Lost. A Big disappointment, especially at home. However a goal disallowed for offside and a penalty that should never have been didn't help. On the plus side Andy King scored a screamer and proved that the fight is still in the side.

Burnley 1-1 Draw. Possibly the most controversial game to date. Tacticians and stattos around Leicestershire will say how shite we were and we shouldn't have played 9 defenders etc etc etc.... Did we lose? No. Did we gain a point? Yes. No it wasn't pretty but who exactly gives a ****?? Were we a pretty side to watch under Brian Little?? Were we ****!! A point is a point and with injuries and a squad that lacks a hell of a lot of confidence that's not bad on a freezing night in Burnley. Who I might add are our bogie side.

WBA 1-2 Lost. Alan Hansen I'm not but even I can see that the calibre in the 2 sides on the night were at opposite ends of the spectrum. WBA are top of the table for a reason. So they lost 4-2 to Coventry, every side has an off game. the Baggies have by far the best and in depth squad in the league, we were only ever going into this game for a battle and to win whatever we could. Unfortunately a moment of sheer class from Beattie took away what would have been a superb point from us.

Ipswich 1-3 Lost. A Man down against a team that has not lost at home this season is not a position I would personally like to be in. Yet another dubious penalty just to stir things up as well.

I, like anyone else am frustrated and ****ed off seeing results not go our way but we are in a transition period, the players have to get use to the Manager and the Manager has to work out how to get the best from his players. Jose could have come in and would have struggled with this lot, they lack far too much confidence and in some quarters the quality to perform at this level. This is not Ian Hollways fault so cut him some slack and let him do his job.

Manderic has made mistakes and he has admitted the majority of them, Ollie says that he will be taking the Transfer burden away from Milan and that he alone will be judged by them. This is how it should be, black and white as to who is responsible for what. However if we don't give him the time and we get on his back he will undoubtedly leave or get the sack. Then exactly where will we be?

im not at all worried as alot of managers have a real difficulty in trying to shape deadwood that they inherited into their preferred formation and tactics, ect...

He will, of course be judged on who he brings in and THAT is somthing he is acutely aware of..

MM said we needed someone with a proven track record, and that we needed someone who could get us winning games immediately!

He did neither, and how long is it going to take to get and gel a new team after January? ....It's eyewash. We've been conned

if everything happened in football how people wanted it to, then we would have 24 teams winning the league, no one would get relegated every team would win 3-0. In every game...

Comprende?

 Thats my point mate, nobody come have come into this side and turned us into a top of the table side, the Team isnt good enough and lacks confidence. Without bringing fresh players in to push to exsisting players the quality, workrate and indeed confidence isnt going to improve.

I think any incoming manager would struggle with our squad. As far as I'm concerned at the moment, anyone could manage the team. It's what does or doesn't happen after the transfer window opens that I'm more concerned about.

My reference to Holloway "Doing a Kelly" was a perfectly reasonable point at the time given what happened against Burnley and then our going 4-5-1 at home to West Brom.

But, time has moved on and I have been quick and happy to acknowedge Holloway's more positive approach at Ipswich and to say how sorry I was to see his strategy totally scuppered by the officials' nonsensical intervention.

I've made it clear that I'm 100% supportive of Holloway providing he stays positive and I hope my comments post-Ipswich reflect that because I have not expressed nor felt he deserved a single word of criticism for his approach at Portman Road apart, perhaps, for his substitutions and I was past caring by then.

The game had been ruined and I doubt anything he did afterwards would have made the slightest difference to the outcome.

we have been playing far better under Ollie than any other manager this season. We don't have the results, but to be fair we haven't had any luck either recently.

I'm 100% confident that playing better will translate to results soon though.

Good start to the thread, your summing up the games is about right.

Hope MM realises what a big job he has landed Ollie with, he definetely needs to spend some money in January.

My thoughts exactly, some of the results on another day could have been different

The last 3 games have pretty much centered around a dodgy penalty decision

I have stated in another thread that Ollie will come good, and we hope he does

Remember when O'Neil started, and i must admit,i was one of those jeering him when the results didnt go our way,and look what hapened thereafter

By no means i am suggesting Olllie is in the same league as Martin, but he has the same passion,if not more

We just need a bit of lady luck to scrape us through, and a few QUALITY signings

Just look at my SIg

Close this thread

I take it you dont like Ollie then?

But just to remind you the last 3 defeats imo havent really proved Ollie is not up to the job

The southhampton loss was due to a dodgy pen

Westbrom are for sure going to get promoted, and it took a last minute wondergoal to beat us (on the break)

And the tractor boys have won 8 at home, and if were never reduced to 10 men,who knows what might have happened?

He doesn't know what he likes. When you start to read a few more of his posts you'll realise he just posts for the sake of it.

I'm telling you once he gets the chance to get in his own players we will see a change in fortune. What he's done at Plymouth and QPR is no coincidence.

but it seems we make up excuses like this for every match... we cant take them anymore and have to find 3 points from somewhere...

Thats what i am waiting for,

his own players, and players that he wants

Then and only then,we can judge him

Until that time,I suggest everyone would do well to get off his back, and give him a break

Ollie will,I hope, be the best manager we have had at this club for many a year,(If he stays long enough)

lol - how many clubs can say that?

Oh, and agree with City Slicker's first post too. People can be way too reactionary on here. Ollie is showing signs of improving us and of course it is going to take time

What do you suggest he says?

He tells it like it is as far as i know,i wouldnt exactly call them excuses

We have been robbed,he has got that wet blanket of what some might call a group of players playing as good as they will get

Megson shown us that we have a decent defence when we need it

The reason why we havent been winning is because the midfield is shocking,my bet is thats the first area he will strengthen

We have been pushing forward more under Ollie, conseqently open at the back,And thats where the middle of us lets us down,we cant pass or hold the ball for long periods, nor supply the strike force with the decent chances they need

We do need the 3 points, and if i am honest,i cant see them coming our soon the way our luck is going

Lets ride the storm, and see what happens after the new year

We are one of the biggets clubs in the League, we should have got at least 11 points from those 5. I hear Mr Warnock may be falling out with his chairman

Milan also said he wanted us promoted this season.

Listen fella, there are a lot of over ambitious souls out there, MM among them - and it isn't helping Ollie or the team one bit.

We are an average/below average Championship team. Seriously, how long would YOU want to be given if you were given Ollie's job?
