ivarti Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 After Kisnorbo returned to the first team, it has really been a struggling scenario. The player is highly overrated and with him in central defence City have a poor record, despite conceding few goals. City also have a huge goalkeeper problem as long as Mr. Pearson don't make a decission wether he will use Henderson or Martin. None of them are top quality and it makes both unsecure as well when the Manager decides to switch them. Not a good scenario for a team that would like to be promoted. You need to be shure who is your best goalkeeper. Back to the Kisnorbo situation. Rob Kellly converted Kisnorbo to a central defender, he was actually a holding midfielder in his days at Hearts, and signed by Levein as just that. City's defence was ok in the games before Kisnorbo returned. The fact that we don't have Kerrea Gilbert might be a problem too. The result agiainst Rotherham is a disgrace, but hopefully Mr Pearson can get things right. I have watched City live one time this year, against Hartlepool at home, and I saw them against Stoke City just a few months before. The differance is shocking. City are close to the top and if they can continue to win games in League 1, I don't care if we get a bad results in any "Donald Duck Cup Competition" or get kicked out of the FA Cup in one of the first rounds. I hope things will change

If Levein did sign him as a flank player then it's a bit bizarre that he always played him in the holding roll.
ivarti Posted 4 November 2008 Author Posted 4 November 2008 So why did he play in the holding midfield roll ? Please check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Kisnorbo then you can see what his career has been like.

But he was in midfield and not a defender while at Hearts. He played in the central defence in Australia, but Levein converted him to a holding midfielder because he felt he was not tall enough to play in defence.

Leicester Rule! Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 He was shit today. Sell him whilst we can.
carterfox90 Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 he was poor tonight is it time for him to go??????
Thracian Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I'm pretty sure he was a holding midfielder, not a flank player. If Levein did sign him as a flank player then it's a bit bizarre that he always played him in the holding roll. He played defensive midfield for us at first and was shocking. As a new player with something of a reputation fans ignored his faults and appreciated his competitiveness. But if anything emphasised how pointless a get-stuck-in midfielder is without the ability to pass it was Kisnorbo. He was shunted back into defence on the back of a series of indifferent performances and there developed his reputation for us as a tight marking, ultra competitive defender with a big heart, a reputation he fully deserved. Sadly, the passing problem remained to this day and, in what was contrived by Pearson as a passing team, it doesn't seemed to have done the flow of our play any good at all.
Sir Fynwy Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Kisnorbo was one of the worst midfielders ever to play for city, his chant reflects this. I'd rather see the manager play Henderson in midfield than Kisnorbo. I'd guess that Kissy will play all of the games until January and then wave goodbye, he's in the last year of his contract so the only way we can get a fee is to sell him when the window opens.
Simi Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I had my doubts about Kisnorbo coming back into the team and I think they have been completely justified. His mentality is still the same from last season when we got relegated. Aimless passing and just falling around like a mad man with no real composure. I thought we looked a lot more solid with Hobbs and Tunchev. Hobbs was a better passer of the ball and seemed to calm things down when under pressure. Kisnorbo at the moment is far to eratic, plus he will more than likely go in the winter anyway, so why disturb the backline later?
Ric Flair Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Kisnorbo has to go, he is the reason behind us reverting to route one at every opportunity now. He doesn't want to be here either, loan him out. Good tackler and headerer of the ball but an absolute shit box at keeping the ball on the deck and sticking to our game plan, which is to get the ball down and play. Pearson has to be brave enough to dress him down, since he has come in to the team the passing football from the back has gone and we don't have the central midfielders to win the second balls that often present themselves when playing long ball.
JoeyB Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 We were brill with Morrison and tunchev at the back, so drop Kisnorbo and bring back Morrison and tunchev. Morrison was always calm on the ball, although he did do the odd long ball he brought it out of defence ran with it and played simple balls

And thats league only. Bring back the morrison/tunchev/hobbs partnerships, with tunchev the backbone. Either of the other on the bench. Kisnorbos return has only seemed to unsettle a side that looked pretty solid. Dont get me wrong a defence cant wholly be blamed for letting goals in. But they go a long way towards it. Our worry is now that we are shipping goals and that confidence in front of goal has slightly eluded us of recent weeks. Especially at home, that crisp bowl has a lot to answer for. I fear for our home record this season as we do (except the paint pot cup last night) play as a different side away from home. I dont know if its the expectancy of the crowd that transfers to the players giving them the fear of failure but i do hope that come May we're out of this poxy division and able to consolidate back into the Championship once again. As everybody does!!!!! Come on you Foxes, get your claws in!!!! Up the City!!!

I couldnt agree more...I also associate him with last season and our wonderful hoofball (and look how that turned out!)...see ya later Kis
carterfox90 Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 think what you say is right kisnorbo has seemed to have had a unsettlleing effect on the team & we seem to have gone long ball aghain now he is back as at the start of the season we were playing it around nicely at the back its time for pearson to start earning his money & sort this out or we are in for a long hard winter as most of the other teams have sussed us out lately which is very worrying
Uncle Albert Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I think Kisnorbo is a quality player and is someone who should be in our team. Him and Tunchev are easily the best centre halfs in the League by a mile. Selling Kisnorbo would mean we would have Tunchev and Morrison as permanent centre halfs with Worley out on loan still. Kisnorbo just needs to stop the long balls and pull his finger out then he will be quality again, another thing that makes me laugh people are slating him again but before he came back people were bigging him up. Some even said if he didnt get injured at the end of last season that we wouldnt of gone down. Come on boys and girls let's just realise that we have the best defender's in League One at our club.

I genuinely dont think he can/will change. It should be evident already that he must change is distribution, so why hasnt he done it already. Maybe he cant
Anish Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Get rid. He is one of our (if not the) longest serving players at the club and he has experienced nothing but relegation problems and pathetic performances and defeats over the last few years. Anybody associated with this has probably built up immunity to the demoralising feeling of defeat and hurt that top players feel when they lose. His record this season says volumes - clearly he cannot pass the ball but his route one football has damaged the team's tactics and resulted in the midfield being by-passed. Drop him now.
