Matt Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 ...And reject it. FOLLOWING widespread media speculation surrounding Leeds United's interest in Simon Grayson, the club can confirm Leeds United have approached the club in respect of its manager and the approach to speak to Simon and or his representatives has been firmly rejected. The club will be making no further comment at this stage http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/NewsDeta...1497115,00.html
JakeShingler Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 ...And reject it. :scarf: http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/NewsDeta...1497115,00.html Wahey.
LeeCovFox Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Means nothing. Clubs have rejected approaches for their managers before now. If Grayson wants the Leeds job, he will go.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Means nothing. Clubs have rejected approaches for their managers before now. If Grayson wants the Leeds job, he will go. I don't think he does though to be honest. I've got the feeling Blackpool are safe.
Koke Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 It means absolutely nothing. If Grayson wants to go to Leeds, he will just resign. It's the exact same scenario when we approached Holloway, Plymouth rejected it, Holloway resigned and two days later there was a press conference unveiling him as our manager.

Ah the good old days...
LeeCovFox Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 If I was Grayson I'd go to them. Me too if I'm honest. I don't like the club, but what a massive opportunity. Leeds are a very big club, taking them back to the top flight would do wonders for anybody's reputation.
Koke Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 He has taken Blackpool as far as he can. I would join Leeds as well if I were him.
Tevez Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 The Leeds job is there for the taking, If I was a jobless manager (Which I'm not ) Then I'd be handing my CV like a shot. Agree alot about Grayson, where are Blackpool going to end up? Championship just like your Preston North Ends and Burnleys staying there for a long long time. Great fan base, great stadium and great history you would be a fool not to turn it down. And what makes it more sweeter, being the most "hated" team in the Football League and the chance to make them greats once again.

Ric Flair Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Grayson's managerial record against us so far reads, played 2, won 2. Fook that.
The People's Hero Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Grayson's managerial record against us so far reads, played 2, won 2. Fook that. That was pre-Tunchev.
Lillehamring Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Me too if I'm honest. I don't like the club, but what a massive opportunity. Leeds are a very big club, taking them back to the top flight would do wonders for anybody's reputation. massively easier said than done - grayson has a great reputation at championship level, why screw that up with what seems to have become the toughest job in british football, even if he turns then round this season, he'd still be stuck with the task of keeping them in the championship and all the associated expectancy. quite frankly, if ince can get the blackburn job (albeit followed by cataclismic failure) grayson can get a much better job than leeds, even someone like charllton or sunderland would probably be a better shout career wise... or waiting to see who drops down from the prem, or if a bigger champ club loses their manager to one of the struggling prem sides, maybe even those jobs may be available to him now.... leeds? wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
Darkzzz_ Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Yes it has indeed. hmmmmmm Sets up an interesting boxing day game now.
El_Thief Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Yes it has indeed.hmmmmmm Sets up an interesting boxing day game now. yep sets up a very interesting game now on boxing day, still think we'll beat them though
Lillehamring Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 just been confirmed that he has took over pah, you call that breaking news? this is breaking news.... breaking news
Lillehamring Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 well, that kinda makes my post earlier look dumb.... what a waste, really can't see the value of this at all for grayson, unless he gets them in the prem in two years, which given the set up at leeds, seems unlikely.... very strange, must have been a hell of a deal financially.....
ousefox Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Don't blame him for taking the job. Hopefully he won't get off to a good start!
davieG Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 well, that kinda makes my post earlier look dumb....what a waste, really can't see the value of this at all for grayson, unless he gets them in the prem in two years, which given the set up at leeds, seems unlikely.... very strange, must have been a hell of a deal financially..... We signed him from Leeds - didn't we?
Lillehamring Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 We signed him from Leeds - didn't we? even worse then, another ex-player thrown to the, erm, wolves..... BTW...perhaps this thread should change it's name to the official grayson in thread?
