Robbie Neilson - Rangers 1M Matt Oakley - Southampton 1M Wayne Brown - Released Yann Kermogant - Released I apologise if this has been posted somewhere else, I'd very much like to get other fans views on these possible signings

marbelladave Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 More interesting would be to produce a list of the players we actually need, something like the following; Keeper. Someone good enough to put a bit of pressure on Weale. Defenders. Starting right back, a left back to share duties with Bruno. A back up center back to replace Brown if he goes, another if there is no chance of Tunchev coming back. Center Mid. We need a couple of players to complement King and Wellens, ideally a solid ball winner good enough to start and some decent back up. Wide men. We are weak in this area, whether we are talking midfielders working up and down the flank or proper attacking wingers, we need at least a couple good enough to start regularly. Forwards. Someone who can score regularly (if not prolifically) and take the load off Fryatt plus at least a couple of others as backup / impact subs. So once again we are looking at 8-10 players who would be regular members of our matchday squad, seems like a lot but we could be losing a fair few too. Bruce, McGivern, Spearing, Waghorn and Vaughan are not 'ours' and Neilson, Brown, Oakley, Adams and Howard are likely to go with maybe N'Guessan, Kermorgant and Solano to follow. So again we could see a big turnaround of players and that assumes that we are able to keep our 'spine' of Weale, Morrison, Hobbs, Berner, Wellens, King, Gallagher and Fryatt. Interesting summer ahead........!

However, that would only be after we had made the most mportant signing of all, Nigel Pearson on a long term contract. Let's face facts, Nigel is the best manager we've had since O'Neill. Players come and go very quickly these days, The likes of Fryatt, Waghorn, Weale, Hobbs and all the rest of the current squad will probably not be with us by 2012, and we'll have new "heroes" playing for the club. But I don't want to be waiting another 10 years to get a decent manager again though. For god's sake Milan, SIGN HIM UP!!!!
