Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Here are some of my suggestions for potential players i.e. those within our range and not currently been on loan to us :- GK: Owain fon Williams (Stockport) to push Weale and keep him on his toes !!! RB: James McPake -(Coventry) sure he's an RB but he's good whatever !! LB: Tony Capaldi (Cardiff) for one season at least is not a major disaster. CM: James Armson (Nuneaton Town) - really is supposed to be one for the future.. seriously !! ATT: Charlie Austin (Swindon), Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town), Kevin Phillips (Birmingham)
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 You're an idiot. Fair enough, don't see me criticizing your opinion.
Ozwin Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 How can you call Fryatt shit? If he scored 30 a season in the Championship then he wouldn't be with us, you expect too much.

Maybe your right, but for me he doesn't have the work rate or the all round play that others have. Although he's good at being in the right place at the right time I think that any other half decent striker given the chances presented to him, would do a lot better.
Ozwin Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 I think you're clutching at straws now tbh, his workrate is fine. Waghorn's shown a lot of commitment and effort because that's the sort of pitbull player he is, Fryatt's completely different. He's hardly 'shit' - put it that way.

Thats my opinion compared to yours then isn't it. You can't say that either of us are right because it's your own opinion.
marbelladave Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 I think Fryatt has improved a lot in the last year or so. His season in League 1 was his first as the 'main' striker, he relied a lot on Howard (and others) to make chances for him and rarely got involved in the buildup or in making chances for others. This season he has steadily improved his all round game and he was badly missed during his time out. Get him a partner who can really complement him and score his share and I think he will be even more effective next season. Anyone remember the rumours surrounding Craig Mackail-Smith a month or two back? If we were to get him he would be an ideal partner for Fryatt.
Dylan Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Alex Bruce- permanent Jay Spearing- loan James Vaughan- loan Waghorn- anything if possible Solano
dandannieldanok Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Anyone remember the rumours surrounding Craig Mackail-Smith a month or two back? If we were to get him he would be an ideal partner for Fryatt. No he wouldn't, not the way we play anyway. Unless you're going to consistently get the ball down and give it to their feet (which Leicester don't), that partnership simply wouldn't be effective.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 No he wouldn't, not the way we play anyway. Unless you're going to consistently get the ball down and give it to their feet (which Leicester don't), that partnership simply wouldn't be effective. Agree. We need someone who's a younger, more technically able version of Steve Howard to win the flick-ons and hold up the ball for Fryatt. Like it or not lads, we've already got a player like that in Kermorgant. I agree with you that CMS wouldn't be a good partner for Fryatt because of the way we play, it'd be a case of either or in my opinion, and Gallagher would probably be more than able to fill in for Fryatt if he was out.
flanimal Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Next season could be Kermorgant's season. The guy has nothing to lose now, he's starting at the bottom. If he screws up, he goes back to France, and he has to fight to reclaim his dignity. I think Fryatt is the number one striker, and Howard is useful. The player I would Leicester to sign is a kind of lower league Drogba, but a player like that would be got by a bigger team. It's gonna be Fryatt and Howard.
CosbehFox Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Hooper is rather like Fryatt. His success rate in one on one's is average and he heavily relied on his strike partner Hayes to do sone donkey work. He maybe a good player but it's differing options upfront we are looking for. If we are going to spend some money on a striker, why not Ebanks-Blake at Wolves? Out of favour and clearly out of depth at PL level.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 13 goals was it ? .. I know he was out but me and my mates all think hes crap. Anway how could I forget Steve Morison ? You and your mates are plonkers then. When fryatt scored on Wednesday I bet you weren't calling him shit.

Flynny Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Weale, Logan, (One more?) Bruce, Solano, Morrison, Hobbs, Tunchev, (Replacement for Brown if Necessary) Berner, Left-back, Wellens, King, Gallagher, Dyer, N'Guessan, (Spearing? Maybe a full season's loan?) Attacking Central Midfielder, Dyer, Adams, One quality winger Fryatt, Kermorgant (One massive unit sort of striker) (One pacey DJish but not a dick sort) Out: Howard, Neilson, Clemence, Oakley,, DJ, (O'Neill??) We've not got absolutely loads to do at all. The only areas we need to spend some money are for one good striker and some pizazz in midfield. For the rest we're looking at back-up at best. We've got a good, solid spine if we hold on to everyone, now all we need to do is augment it with some more firepower. We scored the fewest goals of all the teams in the playoffs this season, so this is what we need to look to change. If Pearson can quality in attacking areas out of loanees then we might not even have to splash the cash at all, or could use it to buy better players than we have in positions that are only reasonably well covered.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 You and your mates are plonkers then. When fryatt scored on Wednesday I bet you weren't calling him shit. Don't get me wrong, I love it whoever scores but I just think he's well overrated. Probably a better word than shit
flanimal Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Don't get me wrong, I love it whoever scores but I just think he's well overrated. Probably a better word than shit I don't think Fryatt is overrated. He got 13 goals in around 30 games. That's a very good rate. He could've got 20 if he didn't get injured. For the money, we are not going to get a player as good as him, he's our main striker. I think we need a right back, one who can attack a bit. a left-back as cover for Berner. A creative midfielder, a kind of Muzzy Izzet, or Mark Davies. A good winger, N'Guessan could be good enough, but who knows. Two more strikers. Target man, and a pacy finisher. Doubt the latter is going to happen. Every team wants that pacy striker who scores 20 goals a season, right?
The Doctor Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Yeah I checked them and guess what? Hes still shit IMO really? 13 goals in 31 games. Now i may have done the maths wrong but 31/13 = 2.38461 which means he's averaging a goal every 2.38461 games which is 2 games & 34 minutes. Now thats very close to the goal every other game ratio that all strikers aim for. or if you prefer he's getting 0.41935 goals per game - lets assume that form had held over an entire season and he hadn't missed nearly 3 months through injury and it works out as 19.2901 goals over a 46 game season - a terrific return if you ask me.
STUHILL Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 McSheffrey has been released by Brum. I always thought he was quality but obviously needs to rediscover that form. A good shout on a free though

A fair summary of LCFC quota and needs pre 2010/2011 seson.

Flynny Posted 15 May 2010 Posted 15 May 2010 Some of those Fryatt appearances were a sub weren't they?
