What the fcuk are you on?
Koke Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Adel Taarabt is a lazy cunt who only turns up when he fancies it, and he wears gloves in the middle of April - we can't have that here. He's not a Pearson type of player. Gallagher was a bit of a lazy player when he first arrived - when things were down he never bothered to try and strolled around the park like tool. He used pull out of tackles and bottle it. Then in the 2nd half of the season, he was a different player. His work rate improved massively, he tracks back with effort, and when the chips are down he still puts a shift in. Plus, you want Gary McSheffrey in, and Lloyd Dyer out?
Leicester Bean Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 I personally really rate Vaughan, he hasn't played much for us this season but he's everything you need in a forward.. strong, agile, fast and he has a great shot on him.
Bryn Posted 16 May 2010 Posted 16 May 2010 Reading through most of these wanted players lists, thank fook its Pearson calling the shots :: He'll do what he's always done, pluck a few players out of the ether that noones paid much attention too. All of them will split the crowd, half of them obnoxiously denouncing them as shit and the other half obnoxiously pouncing on anyone who remotely reserves judgement for "not having faith", 90% of the players will turn out to be brilliant and one or two won't be so good.
marbelladave Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Marbelladave, where was Wellens in that lineup? If your looking for a RB. Then Seamus Coleman who is on loan at Blackpool from Everton looks like a youn great player, was impressed with him against Forest, but if they go up then I imagine they will try to get him. In my opinion I think we should look at a few fringe players of Premiership teams, I'm thinking Reo-Coker etc. Not sure what you are referring to, but if it is my prospective line up back on page 2 then the answer is on the bench. My logic is simple, our midfield has misfired a lot over the course of the season leading many posters to suggest that we need a good creative/attacking midfielder of the Davies / Cleverly type. Such a player could be expensive and hard to find, so my suggestion is to use King and Gallagher in midfield to provide the creative edge, with a good defensive player as cover, to my mind a cheaper and a more effective use of the players we already have.
marbelladave Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Well I clearly remember our two goals at Cardiff coming from lumps to Howards head. I certainly agree with the ability of mixing it up but there's a pattern that our best form came when...Howard was our point of attack. In terms of football, always thought away at Sheff Yoo was a super performance which deserved more. Really? The first goal came from a ball played up to Fryatt on the floor (from Wellens?), Fryatt tried to lay it off to Howard as he turned, but it spooned up in the air allowing Stevie to get enough on it to knock it through for Fryatt to score, hardly a lump up to Howard. The second was pure luck and the third came from a corner that was won during our most dominant period when we were actually keeping possession and playing the ball through midfield, on the floor! We came close to scoring again during that spell and another goal would probably have put us in the final. Sadly we did not have quite enough to keep that going but even so Cardiff only got back into it through some outrageous good fortune.
VinceNoir Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 How about Robert Koren? Just released from West Brom. I reckon he's a pretty decent player.. Sorry if this has been posted already, couldn't be arsed to look through the whole thread.
eaststandtom Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 The one signing we need is Pearson and his new deal! Milan is not doing enough. If he was it would be done and dusted. 'Its in the clubs hands' says NP. we have seen Milans fractious relationship with Managers. get it sorted Milan or no amount of PR will do you favours if you allow Pearson to leave so easily

I agree !! plus he has the experience of automatic promotions, he can grab vital wonder goals too, I think we actually might sign him !

So you will put Wellens on the bench, who wins the ball week in, week out. And play King who is quiet the majority of the time and just pops up with a goal or 2. In my opinion i would play them both, and put Gally out on the right.
Samilktray Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Robert Korens been released by West Brom. Stick him in the middle next to Wellens, would be class especially on a free.

Guest Bilo Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 I'd take Robert Koren even if we had to spend a bit to get him here, on a free he's a no-brainer. Classy and cultured player who'd help us to get the ball on the deck and play a bit, a style of play that has made us look the best this season. Some of the best football we've played this season, QPR away and the first half against Coventry, have come when we've got it down and passed it around a bit. Koren can aid that. Keen.

My post was in reference to a possible line up that I posted back on page 2. In that post I suggested that we try and find a decent defensive midfield player, probably a lot less expensive than a good attacking player that many have suggested. This could free up King to get forward more and as we have additional defensive cover, I would ask Gallagher to go box to box with King and take on the playmaker role. Gallagher to 'put his foot on the ball' and dictate our play as well as providing a real goalscoring threat from the edge of the box and King to do the 'bits and pieces' and provide a threat inside the box. Gallagher's lack of pace makes him unsuitable as an attacking wide man and he often becomes marginalised in that role, he is far more effective when he comes inside so I am simply trying to get him into his most effective position. The combination of King and Wellens has not really proved to be strong enough, hence my thoughts about making changes here. On their own they can get over run, hence the deployment of Oakley into the narrow right position to help out and the change early this year to more of a 4-3-3 setup. I thought we were beginning to get to grips with that system when Fryatt's injury deprived us of it's focus, so I would very much like to see us move in that direction next season and all my suggestions and comments have been mage with that thought in mind.

Agree entirely, I have been saying exactly that all season... As for Koren I have only seen him once this season that I recall when he payed a part in an excellent WBA win at the Walkers. Scored a good goal to as I recall. We are still undermanned in midfield so if he is available, have a word.

ACF Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Should we try and get a few from Pompey? How's Steve Finnan doing these days?
CRRobinson Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 I think we should try and get: Martyn Waghorn Chris Eagles Nicky Maynard Steve Finnan is a good shout for right back.
Bugg Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Fulham are linked with Maynard for about £3.5m so I highly doubt we will get him.
calum_lcfc Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 At the minute our shopping list should be as follows: 1. Waghorn 2. Waghorn 3. Waghorn 4. Waghorn 5. Waghorn 6. Waghorn 7. Waghorn 8. Waghorn 9. Waghorn 10 .Waghorn enough said Agreed.
