Sven - His LCFC Record - and no need for hysteria

Loads of people seem to think its all falling apart, but i just thought i'd take a closer look at things.

Firstly let me just say that i'm not a particular supporter of sven - as someone on here the other day said i think he's an ok manager with some decent contacts.

Alot of people seem to be getting really worried about us this season - and many are wondering why we're still in 16th, - stating that if we'd done really well since sven coming we'd higher up the table. But without the points:game ratio improving under sven we'd still be down at the bottom - yes we haven't marched up the league very much but he's at least stopped the "Sousa Rot"

Some stats:

Sousa's League Games:

Crystal Palace - L

Middlesbrough - D

Burnley - L

Reading - L

Coventry - D

Cardiff - W

QPR - L

Portsmouth - L

Norwich - L

So that's 9 Played - W1 - D2 - L6 Also 9 games is almost exactly a fifth of the season - so if we extrapolate Sousa's record of 5 points out of 9 games - we would have finished on 25 points (at that rate - and I KNOW i'm simplifying things!!!) Last season Peterborough finished bottom - on 34 points!

Sven Meanwhile:

S****horpe -W (Chris Powell in charge)

Hull - D

Leeds - W

Swansea - L

Preston - W

Barnsley - W

Sheffield United -D

Derby - W

Bristol City - L

Forest - W

Watford - L

Doncaster - W

Ipswich - L

So that's 13 Played - W7 - D2 - L4 - So Sven has 23 points out of 39 available - and out of 13 games. So if we extrapolate his records we'd finish on around 80 points. Last Season Forest finished 3rd with 79 points.

Now i know it's all not that simple and that things can changed and we'll have good runs and poor runs and that we've still got to get a level of consistency and sort out our away form - but i'm just trying to highlight that it's not all that bad and we're doing ok

That's a winning percentage of 53.8. I don't think I even need to put that in bold and/or in size 6 text.

The reality is that we're as close to the bottom as the top and every team now knows how to play us. Close us down fast, compete physically and counter attack fast and directly.

Yes i realise we're always going to win the next nine games on the trot then all will be rosy but first of all we've gotta beat Leeds at home and Millwall away.

And for a team with a soft underbelly that doesn't fancy playing in the cold and the snow that's quite enough for us to be thinking about.

Gradel, I'm sure, will be relishing the chance to show what fools we were to let him go, snow or no snow.

But, already, just the very concept of playing two games in three days in wintry conditions and with all sorts of potential cry-offs with injury, illness and I-want-my-Christmas-at-home syndrome, means we'll need a massive improvement just to tread water, never mind climb the table. Or are we going to win the next nine away games as well?

We embarrassed ourselves at Ipswich and while one might expect some immediate improvement I actually think we'll take time to live that performance down.

After all, it was by far the most humiliating public surrender I've ever seen from a Leicester team, both on and off the field, and the sooner that attitude is banished from our mentality the better. But it won't be easy. Especially the way we're trailing the pack already.

can you please shut up about gradel. He was an average winger and still is, regardless of whether he's scoring goals for leeds or not.

N'Guessan has everything gradel had going for him and a bit more, while dyer is also streets ahead of gradel.

Maybe we needed back up on the wings last season but that isn't a reason to have kept gradel, paticularly when gallagher & adams were more than capable of playing there, after christmas we had solano as well, and berner and oakley were also capable of putting a shift in out there if needs be.

This season we still have n'guessan (despite him being out on loan at the moment), dyer, gallagher, oakley and berner while vassell has coped fine out there and with the way they bomb foward cunningham and naughton should be fine on the wing if it comes to that.

Put simply we didn't need to keep gradel and possibly were right to sell him.

"Gradel will be relishing the chance..."

is probably about right. got nothing much to do with people bitching about us letting him go.

You know, I always thought NP was wrong about Gradel and have always thought he'd be useful in the squad and certainly better than the lump N'Guessan. BUT COULD YOU STOP INCLUDING ASIDES ABOUT GRADEL IN ANY OF YOUR FUTURE fooking POSTS PLEASE!!!!!

Apologies for triple posting I'm doing this on my phone and between us we got extra annoyed at the lovely when not mentioning Gradel (thank God Sheehan's nosedived) Thracian.

I agree about Gradel. There's always players that are going to do well at other clubs, not like he's bangin them in in the prem. Take DJ he's doing ok in the prem but we wouldn't want that bonehead back!

But DJ didn't want to play for Leicester. Gradel just loved playing here.

Apart from Dyer the other's you mention aren't in Gradel's class as a winger. On either flank!

N'Guessan's appalling out wide and it was plain within a month of his being here. He's actually better in the centre as a striker but still not nearly good enough for what we need. N'Guessan a monk. He plays with his head down and runs into blind alleys - a bit like Fryatt but without the goals to compensate.
