Sorry I was a bit drunk when I posted this. My parents were in Bury a couple of weeks ago and I think went to a good pub, will ask them.

visit the burial place of our blessed martyr and last East Anglian king St Edmund (no idea about pubs)

Low-achieving idiots larping as activists because they lack basic practical or social skills and because they want a cause to fill the emptiness in their soul. Many such people in modern Britain.

He got her confused with Greta Garbo

In the last 24 hours Wymesy's asked - "Elon Musk, does he have a point?" and "is it fair to say Greta Thunberg is actually quite hot?". Looking forward to the "Pol Pot - does he really deserve such a bad reputation?" thread.

Bugger. If anyone can help me out with one for this I'd be very grateful.

Yeah it's crap. I feel even with the great United team of the late nineties teams like Leicester, Derby, Wimbledon could often go to Old Trafford and get a result or at least come close. Now managers are content if their teams concede less than 5 at the Etihad.

hack the goal line technology and ping it any time your team puts a cross in -
Gap between the top and bottom is huge now. In 96/97 the gap between 1st and 18th was 35 points, last season it was 65. Almost doubled.

Yeah it's Europe's crappest cup competition. Shame because it'd be great seeing e.g. Juventus having to fly down to Taranto or something.

I see Cooper has resorted to setting up accounts on Foxestalk for tactical ideas -
East London Brewery is very good. The bottled Nightwatchman in particular. Drinkers Paradise in Kentish Town sells a lot of them, along with some other really good beers including Messina which never really works in a British autumn like it does in an Italian summer.

A good pub. And yes it's always better to be slightly drunk when trying to travel out of Birmingham by train

Lie on the ground and blow it in after somehow incapacitating the opposition XI -

Player picks up the ball and runs into the opposition goal holding it while one of his teammates puts his hands over the referee's eyes -
He expressed doubts about Cooper's ability to manage at Premier League level

Thanks. I've always wanted to explore the churches of the Welsh marches. I always assumed the borders in your name were around the Tweed!

Yes I went to Worcester mostly to see the tomb of King John. Didn't have time for the Commandery but would be interested in going again particularly as I've been reading a bit about the civil wars recently. I never used to go west of London much but this year have been exploring it more - really liked Tewksbury and the area just north of Cheltenham. Beautiful area and loads of history. Thanks for the recommendations.
