I suppose the first time an England player has scored against a team they were a full international for. I'm sure a few ex Yugo players then played against them for e.g. Croatia but I don't know if they scored.

Exeter cathedral is amazing. Architecturally quite different from other English cathedrals I think. Incredible vaulted ceiling.

I assume this is in response to the post from benguin about lack of faith contributing to anxiety. I think it's an interesting point. As the great historian Christopher Hill said about the reformation, we "abolished priests but not the priest in our head". Are less religious societies more anxious? The US would suggest not although there is obviously a big cultural divide there between atheists and religious that you might not get in e.g. Italy. Or is it that we are as anxious as ever, we just lean on our faith less. I don't like religion to be dismissed only as some kind of coping mechanism but I am sure it's true that faith for many is a source of strength and comfort.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I have close friends who've adopted and my Gran was adopted - I might not be here otherwise. I'm thinking of doing it myself in the future. It's a very selfless thing that you did and I think probably you've helped your daughters in many ways that might not always be apparent. Sorry if that comes across as a bit personal and intrusive but it's a topic close to my heart and I have great respect for people who adopt.

It's not cool to like Oasis. They're one of the least cool bands of all time. I quite like some of their songs but in the same way I like for example American football, it's just a bit of mindless entertainment that gets boring quite quickly if you don't have a beer with you.

Coldplay and Oasis are just kind of same though no? Arena rock for people who don't usually like music that much.

I enjoy cup games more and more every year when compared to the soul-destroying grind of the Premier League. Even games like Tuesday's are more enjoyable than an over-hyped league where it feels like most of the positions are decided at the start of the season, and which increasingly seems to exist solely to promote the biggest six clubs. Would be a shame if we played even fewer knockout games than we do now.
