Mention of some of these previous left backs. Then you have Mattock with his problems and Chilwell's general twatishness. Most cursed position at our club surely.

Lots of nice clues today. No random streets on Caribbean islands or shots of the Mexican wilderness.

That sounds awesome. The black sea coast of Turkey is beautiful and very different from what we expect from Turkey.

Unfortunately not but everyone I know who's been has loved it. Beautiful country.

When did the foxes never quit stuff start out of interest? Was it the 90s playoff finals?

Get the the completely wrong European country with a different language and religion - "you were 300 km away from the correct location". Unluckily pick the wrong Caribbean island - "you were 1672km away from the correct location". #WhenTaken #173 (18.08.2024) I scored 750/1000 π 1οΈβ£ π 1200 km - ποΈ 10 yrs - β‘ 151 / 200 2οΈβ£ π 224 km - ποΈ 15 yrs - β‘ 162 / 200 3οΈβ£ π 3739 km - ποΈ 15 yrs - β‘ 103 / 200 4οΈβ£ π 588 km - ποΈ 6 yrs - β‘ 175 / 200 5οΈβ£ π 1517 km - ποΈ 1 yrs - β‘ 159 / 200 https://whentaken.com

Snowballs at Walsall, an enduring image.

I loved that freaky little mascot.

That was a fun season. Winning every week, old school stadiums and 'real' fans, sponsored by a tile company not some crypto betting shite, Pearson putting together a squad of young players looking to prove themselves and wise old heads, good vibes returning to the club after nearly a decade of shite. God this is supposed to be the positivity thread!

Some great matches off the top of my head: 3-1 in 94 - maybe the first Leicester game I can remember watching, albeit on TV. 2-1 away in 96 3-0 in 97 - absolutely destroyed them just after death of Diana. 2-1 in 98 - two superb goals. 3-2 away in 99 4-4 away in 2004 3-4 away in 2015 1-1 in 2015 and Mahrez's ripper The 1-0 in 2016, obviously 3-4 away in 2018 4-1 in 2023

Drinkwater's fault

I'd be interested to know what the name is, though no worries if you don't want to share it. My Mum's maiden name is Wallin which I believe is relatively common in Leicestershire, but interestingly also one of the most common surnames in Sweden. Would be very interested to know if and how it came across, or whether it's just coincidence.

I like reading about the early history of America as a lot of the original settlers came from East Anglia where I'm from. And it's a fascinating topic in general. I find that there is an interesting tension between how they see themselves as upholding specifically Anglo ideals of freedom and liberty, but then the belief of their nation existing as something beyond traditional nations or ethnicities. I guess that still permeates modern society. Interestingly I think it's started to influence even how the English see their country too, and the quite modern tendency to see Britain as a proposition nation in the same vein as the US. At the same time there is this constant paranoia that bad people (e.g. Catholics, tyrannical government) are coming to take away their rights, which you still definitely see today in American society. I think the self-centredness is quite typical of the Anglo world in general. Our language and culture is so dominant it's easy to forget the rest of the world exists, and there are billions of people that see the world differently to us. In general the relationship between Britain and America reminds me very much of the one between Slavic nations and Russia.
